What's your budget? Any particular features necessary or not?

Monthly I'm paying £56 now so I don't mind paying around the same. Only thing I want is a better phone, nothing soecific. I really liked this phone but I have had issues on occasion. I was looking at the S20 Ultra but I don't want to pay £100 upfront and then £64 a month.

I could wait a month and go with another network if I can get any phone cheaper (currently with 3.)

£56 a month seems like a lot to me, although I don't usually do contracts. If you're after the flagship phones from the big manufacturers then that's probably the way to go. If you want a different option, I'm probably going to be picking up the RealMe X50 Pro in April, which is a top spec phone for what is likely to be half the price. Stick a cheap SIM in there and you're golden.

Big names don't bother me tbh, if a phone is good a phone is good. Will have a look now, thanks.

£56 a month!?

If you're not particularly bothered by spec why not get a mid range handset and a cheap SIM only deal?

Also the P20 Pro is still a very good phone, there's no need to upgrade.

Yeah, but not everyone has £1000 to drop on a phone in one go. I understand why people have contracts, personally I'd rather buy a cheaper handset but if you want those big names you have to fork out.

I didn't buy the phone outright, I got it on the Samsung Upgrade Programme. So my Sim Only is £20/month and phone is £30/month.
And I get the newest one every year at launch.

Well that seems quite reasonable. Never heard of that program. Still more than I'd want to spend myself, mind.

Samsung started it a few years ago with the Galaxy S8 so I've been on it since then. Generally need to pay about £50-100 up front depending on the model.

What's the general feeling on the S20? Is it worth the extra cash over the S10?

Think I'm finally going to dump the iPhone.

Didn't see the posts here.

I like my phone, but it acts up occasionally. It's Bluetooth seems to be a bit off, as gooseberry fool cuts out when I'm listening to music, and didn't with other phones. While its shouldn't factor into my decision the last phone I had was a the Nexus 6P which was a Hauwai (whatever) phone and I decided I don't want to upgrade. I got a year SIM only contract for about £25 with all the data and minutes and that stuff, 4 months later my phone got stuck on the starting screen and I ended up having to get a new phone. It's this phone, but it meant I had to pay to cancel my sim as and then get this phone as well which was pricey and I don't want that happening again.

The phone MHTL linked me to doesn't appear to be available via 3. Shame I'd have gone for it as it seems like it's be a fair whack cheaper.

Not long till the OnePlus 8 gets launched. I am curious on the price but I feel I may never get another of their devices.

The Realme phone MHTL linked you probably won't get on a UK network so buy the phone outright and get a sim only deal.

It's not out until later this month, there's always a chance Three might carry it.

I'm gutted to hear the Xiami Mi 10 will be super expensive.

I like my Mi 9 a lot, but I wouldn't want to pay a rediculous amount for a Xiaomi. I feel this could be a really poor move from them.

I'm still rocking a Mi 6 at the moment, it's been great, but I certainly wouldn't have paid a premium on it. I'm either going with the aforementioned RealMe or a RedMagic 5G, depending on price. I like the RedMagic at the moment as it's actually got a headphone port.

This samsung scheme sounds interesting to say the least Laga, so £360 a year for the best handset? Doesn't seem to shabby considering the prices. Are they insured through samsung too?

Edit: I google it. It's not a bad scheme, but without the insurance it's not worth it for me. Also eventually you'll have to pay for a phone at the end of it.

Still if i got an S20 pro i'd pay £99 upfront, and then the 24 payments of £30 (£680) and then the final £200. So thats £980. So it's the same cost of the phone overall. But if I was to upgrade the samsung every year then your paying £99 + £340 a year for a new top tear phone. Which isn't too bad. Clever scheme.
