If so it looks very nice :)

I've watched this so many times already, if it looks like that it'll be superb :)

Both AC clips had a "Not actual game play footage" disclaimer, though honestly neither looked outside the realm of possibility for the hardware

That's the one thing I spend ages thinking about, probably should start soon if this is coming out next year!

Yeah I clocked the disclaimer on my second watch........ I wouldn't be surprised if we do get something that looks similar to that when we finally get to see some gameplay though, the hardware should certainly be capable of producing such considering other games we've seen on it already.

Would be neat! We still haven't had a AC beyond Wii level visuals so it's quite exciting :)

Visually wise I actually think New Leaf is the best looking of the series. Saying that I still love the look of the N64/GC game, they've a certain charm looking back on them :)

Something akin to the miiverse plaza would be really nice. In particular, I like the idea of clouds casting crisp shadows over the town as they pass overhead.

Considering my New Leaf town was based on a location in one of my novels, I think I'll be doing the same with this one.
Handly really, as that means I can call it the town I actually live.

As for shadows being cast by the clouds, I think it would be good for adding a bit more life to the weather, but that all depends on how the sky works in this game. If they keep to the rolling world design, I doubt it could realistically work.

I normally end up naming my towns after towns and locations in previous games I've played.

Ideas time. As stated previously, Future of Mario Kart had finished, so the Switch game of Animal Crossing is where my sights are set. Crossing to the New Life has started, and it comes with a very large map. For Animal Crossing standards, anyway.

I'll be going into greater detail over the coming five posts, talking about features and interactivity much the same as I did with the Future of Mario Kart series. For the first post, it's just a general overview of what I'll be talking about, such as the new campsite and Public Works Projects, along with the shops and facilities available - which will probably be spread across two posts.

Reckon your series is going to get me even more hyped for Animal Crossing Switch than I already am! :D

I really do hope they go for a much bigger map with more villagers living there. Nice idea about the campsite allowing the population to be boosted temporarily for events. One small thing I'd say about this is that the campsite should normally have a handful of villagers in, whenever there's a big event going on that's when it should reach its maximum capacity so the town feels full and alive.

Thanks for reading.
As for the campsite, you've got the right idea for what I had planned, though it'll be one of the last things I talk about in the series.

The second post in the Crossing to the New Life series is here. What Do We Do Today, Friend? looks at expanding the connectivity options in a future game, expanding concepts such as the Dream Suite and the island, as well as repackaging most of the infamous spin-off party game into a new store and adding more to it.

I wandered back to my town in New Leaf after a few months away. Lots of weeding to do, but it was nice to see that the snow had arrived :-) .

I was thinking of jumping back in also, but I have pretty comprehensively covered the Christmas period when I bought it 3 years ago. I guess there won't be much be to discover, as I picked up most of the bingo prizes, made the snowman family etc back then.

Great game though.

I'll be jumping on New Leaf for new year celebrations, since it'll probably be the last time to celebrate the event on New Leaf before we all inevitably jump onto the Switch version. I'll certainly be trying to hop on every so often before that time comes, though.
