Question on fishing, once your in place can you just wait there and a fish will eventually spawn. Does running off screen help?

It was the only thing I was missing from that list of disappearing creatures. I had already caught a sturgeon, but I caught another 4 yesterday

My one complaint about fishing is that I keep messing up and resetting my streak. I got to 84 in a row, and now the idea of getting up to 100 is really depressing
