I’ve included a tweet from Nintendo UK in the first post saying it includes a code for the game! The 3DS editions were a bit hit or miss from what I remember, sure the Zelda ones came with the games or a code for them but then other ones didn’t.

This is a real test. I can't justify getting it... but it looks so good.

Edit: Thinking it through, that could be £300 towards a next-gen console, though. And... Nintendo's approach to multi-console use isn't exactly great. Gonna resist this.

It's up for pre-order at Game... for £329.99. It releases on 20 March.

The US version of the console launches a week earlier for a lot less (approx £228 + tax) but doesn't include the game.

I'm gonna just get an AC case instead. This one looks lovely!

It has suddenly dawned on me that this'll be the first AC game that we'll be able to play in both handheld and tv formats*. I kinda think the game style suits portable play but it'll be great to have the option to have a go on the big screen as well.

* Mainline AC game. We know about AC amiibo Festival!

Just got a promotional Animal Crossing email from Nintendo. All aboard the hype train

I recall a few years ago (when the Switch was a mere rumour) that Animal Crossing would be one of the games that would benefit most from being able to be played handheld and on the TV, just the thought of actually being able to spend your morning wondering your town before undocking it and going elsewhere still interacting with the same town and villagers seemed so magical a few years ago! Obviously many more games have benefited from the versatile nature of the Switch In the meantime but I can’t wait to do the same with Animal Crossing New Horizons in just over 6 weeks.

I'd love for Nintendo to make them available in UK/Europe/USA as well but no news yet. I'm not even a fan of the Switch's dock and it's way over-priced... but this one just looks so smart!

Edit: My enthusiasm for this idea could be misplaced... apparently the Pokémon and Mario joy-con from their respective console special editions were also made available in Japan but not beyond. Oh well!

I legit might fork over extra to import the Joy Cons from Japan. Been meaning to get a new pair for a while.

There are, CK - such as this one. Opinions appear to vary on the reliability and compatibility of non-official docks, though.

Are you referring to the official docks? If so they all have 2 USB A ports on the side don’t they? I know mine does.

Mine does also. It's where I plugged in pro controllers to sync them for the first time.
