Showed the update to my girlfriend and she was very excited. She stopped playing at around 350 hours I think and this truly was our lockdown game. Releasing an update of this size as winter approaches is a smart idea.

Showed her the paid DLC and she immediately decided she wanted it.

My Switch access has been revoked.

The silly neighbourhood vegetable.

Hee! Yeah, I view AC as my lockdown game, too; I played it a lot from launch through to the end of 2020 (around 220 hours) but haven't touched it again until recently. It felt a bit odd that Nintendo launched a popular game but hadn't really got plans in place for additional content. This new update and DLC look great, though, will hopefully reawaken many lapsed players.

Same here my girlfriend is hyped for the update , she hasn't touched the switch since she fell Animal Crossing. My daughter has started dabbling in our family island again which has lead to me getting back into it. The update looks marvellous and I'm gonna get the paid dlc aswell.

And sorry fisher, I was busy when you asked. I don't think we've met in game so I can't just send the blue laptop.

Is there anyone who has met fisher in game I could send it to to be sent on?

I'm one of the few who have encountered them and I'll happily pass it on - especially as I'd like to catalogue that colour of laptop myself as well!

did you catalog blue laptop.

Add me to the lockdown game camp. This was my first animal crossing game, and it came along at just the right time, just what I needed as a happy and chilled distraction. I'll probably buy the DLC and go back to the game, as I've not played it in a long time (not played diving patch yet, so I've got a lot to catch up on).

Some good summaries there, kerr - nice work!

It sure was the right game at the right time; Animal Crossing kinda benefitted from the global situation! I feel it's a great title - particularly the new ground-sculpting and designing ability. It has taken a long time for the game to approach the level of content we saw for 3DS's New Leaf but, with the upcoming update and the new "Happy Home" expansion, it's a very good step forward.

Add me to the lockdown game camp too. It was great to play through the difficult times.

I've completed everything apart from the arts and I sold the game a few weeks. I have no urge to go back at all.

Do you mean everything in the museum by this?

I'm glad we're gettimg more KK songs as collecting them should take me through to that final stamp goal.

If anyone is tempted to restart for the new update rather than go back to an old island, any chance of stealing any gold nuggets you have before you do? :shifty:

I’m planning on getting rid of a fair bit of my fruit farm (might get a few more harvests out of it first though) before the update comes out on the 5th, so I can have a lot of space for crops.

While I’m not going to restart my island, I would have considered it a little if they’d let us carry a lot of our stuff over, stuff like DIY recipes, crafting materials, house storage (so you’d start with the max storage expansion along with items in there).

Sadly the museum would be one of the things that wouldn’t be carried over and considering how long it’s taken to even get 2/3 of the art I’d be hesitant to restart my island for that alone! Also I’d hate losing about half of my villagers

Also in the lockdown crew. Put about 150 hours into it back in the day before I got bored with my long term project. I think that with a big expansion like this I'd be happy to dip back in and change up my island quite a bit. I'm thinking of turning what is currently the Tal Tal Heights area into a mini Japanese village using Brewster as a conbini stand in.

I'm unsure about restarting. My initial thought is that no way could I go back to "having nothing" and starting out fresh, but... maybe I could. My favourite bit is setting up the island and gradually building it up.

Hmmn. Will have a think about this.
