Happy with my villagers now, got Raymond, Tangy, Mitzi, Sherb, Goldie, Stitches, Audie, Skye, Antonio and Marshall. No time skipping for them, just got very lucky

Hey all!

I'm having some difficulty placing a log bridge where I need it - basically the whole 'leg' of the river that I need to cross has wobbly banks so it won't let me place it anywhere along it, let alone where it would be most convenient :( . Is there any way to overcome this later on?

Just a yes or no is fine if possible! I'm trying not to get too much 'later game' info too soon, as I'm a year behind most of you guys.

Started inviting the Sanrio characters to get their catalog items. So if anyone wants anything after I’ve purchased everything which will likely take about 2 bloody weeks let me know.

Having looked them up I am now upset that there are actually some great unique items from the Sanrio crossover!

Ah sorry I closed up about an hour ago now as no one had replied! I'd open again but shes probably going to be asleep by the time I load the game up again.

I’m sure there’s a birthday popping up around the 21st for one of mine. I’ll double check in the morning and just make sure it’s on New Horizons and not New Leaf :shifty:

Animal Crossing New Horizons is 1 year old today :toot:

I think for the most part it’s been a very enjoyable a year (logging over 415 hours in the year, compared to a mere 500 in New Leaf over the entire span of the game) for the most part but for the ways it’s pushed the series forward there has been a few omissions that have ever so slightly dulled my time with the game. One of these is the villagers personalities, their speech, you just hear the same stuff constantly if you have villagers with the same personality, I’m sure this wasn’t the same in the GC version or New Leaf. The second is the furniture, I was hoping when they announced crafting your own items was the main focus, this didn’t mean some of the fantastic sets from the past games didn’t get left in the past, which is what seems to have happened. The last minor complaint is the lack of returning NPCs, there are some amazing characters they could have visiting various places of your island but I’m still hoping they add these over the next year via updates.....

The ability to re-landscape your island and place items outside has been a real game changer though! The creativity a lot of you here and elsewhere has been amazing to see, I’m just currently laying out some of the Mario items to liven up the one bare bit of my island.

That also marks 1 year of continuous days logged on this so I think I’ll be taking a few days off from this at least

I'll be celebrating one year of the game later on over on Twitch, but I can also do so here.

It has been a great first year for the game, with me enjoying my time on the island of Halesowen. I might not have been as massively dedicated as some in logging into the game, but I've had a lot of fun whenever I have. The events have been great to enjoy - even the dredded Bunny Day, but even without an event there's been a lot to see and do. I might have a few issues with things (such as no diagonal paths) but none of them have hindered the joy I encounter when playing. I hope this second year introduces plenty more content to enjoy, including more locations to explore. How great would it be to visit Celeste at her observatory on some nearby island, for example. And maybe allow an expansion of dreams to give players a dream-only island to customise every facet of. That would allow imaginative people a lot of room to create some very interestingly themed islands.

Here's to year 2 of the game.

EDIT: And speaking of celebrating, I've been reading my articles of the game, and this one from ten days after starting is a particularly nostalgic read. Even got a picture of one of the first meteor shower visits at Chaos in there. Think I might do another article like this quickly to celebrate the first year.

One year and I just did my 50th KK concert. Some great evidence of how Covid has affected the business of my Saturday nights
