Longevity with Animal Crossing has never been an issue for me, it’d be interesting to see what ideas they’d have for DLC for Animal Crossing though, off the top of my head I can’t think of anything unless they lock a separate island or something behind DLC?

In-game purchases seem more likely to be the dread bane of videogames.

Microtransactions.

May God have mercy on jawa's soul.

Hopefully if micro transactions are a thing in Animal Crossing it’ll just be for something like extra furniture sets, not that the catalogue has ever been lacking in my opinion.

If the in-game purchasing is for decorative stuff - and if there is already plenty of cool decorative stuff that can be gained without payment - then it might be "okay". If the purchasing involves some form of on-going season-pass or "waiting time decrease" aspect, that would be frustrating.

It's gonna be difficult for Nintendo to strike a balance that is "acceptable" in the eyes of most players. AC has a history of delivering a wealth of content for keeping players enjoying the game for a long time and it'd be a shame if that approach were to be altered. I know that mobile gaming is different, but I do look at Pocket Camp and shiver a little.

With only just over a month to go, I'm a wee bit surprised that we have seen so little of the game. It's good in some ways as I enjoy a game being "surprising" rather than knowing everything about it... but the saved data storage and payment transaction areas are not something I want to be surprised about :-D .

From the ESRB Ratings Board. Although, as Nintendo Life notes, games such as Smash and Fire Emblem have that comment as well, and it only refers to the DLC.

I’m certain it’ll be for DLC.

Hopefully it’ll be for DLC, micro transactions are just crap all round, mobile games I can see why they’ve taken a hold as people can either pay to keep playing or take a break for a bit while a timer ticks down or similar but in a full price game they have no place. Still in some mobile games they’re questionable.

I still can’t think of anything that would actually constitute decent DLC for Animal Crossing though?

I do kinda recall instances of people responding to vague comments literally on a daily basis and, yeah, I guess it's just normal for those folk.

I know, how dare people speculate on things on a forum for discussing things. :|

Sorry, but it's daft people are going to discuss things on a forum about games when info is revealed however small. It's not like people are going nuts about it. People are simply saying they hope it isn't microtransactions. It's truly baffling that someone on a forum is whining about people talking about game related info on a game forum. strawberry float me.
