Animal Crossing is too wholesome for such arguments

(it's also too wholesome for microtransactions :( )

i never said i had a problem with it, i was questioning where it came from. that was just you misinterpreting the tone i was intending

That does not does not read like questioning where it came from but criticizing those discussing it and implying that all everyone here does is lose it at small bits of information. That is not on me, that is clearly. Clearly what you are saying here.

I have ZERO interest in buying this game* but now that it is 1000% CONFIRMED!!! that microtransuxtions are going to be infecting every aspect of the game I am required to come in here and moan about it.

strawberry float Nintendo. Reggie Sucks. Switch has no games. Bring Conan back!

*not actually true.

You need it all in caps and using about a hundred less words. The grammar also needs toning down so it barely makes any sense. Good try, though.

I will be stealing ‘microtransuxtions’ though.

I have no issue with them adding DLC to Animal Crossing but micro-transactions for furniture, clothes etc would be soul destroying for me. I really can't see them risking it though. After all, Nintendo's titles don't need microtransactions because unlike other games, they sell at full price for months, even years later.

Also, Nintendo have a pretty good track record for DLC on the Switch so I'd be interested to see what they do with Animal Crossing. I think it would be more than just adding furniture and crafting options.

I wonder what they could add. A new location? A massive online hub called GRcadia where we can have a GRexit?

A new location to fly to on Nook's airline seems the obvious choice.

no, i was double checking i understood what was explained to me when i ask where this topic came from and the second is just an observation about how that sort of thing happens a lot in the video game industry

It could all be nothing though. If Nintendo have included functionality within the software that, for example, allows you to renew your online sub, that would be an "in-game purchase" too, and thus necessitate the inclusion of such wording.

I’d kind of like it if the DLC was basically another island you can develop with the best available crafting items and loads of money from the get go, maybe it’d be smaller than the standard island you’ll be starting on. This way you can develop a town/island with a real theme from the start.

I’m also going to renegade on my previous post and say that micro transactions shouldn’t be in this game at all, at first I mentioned that I’d be ok if extra sets of furniture outside the normal range but the more I think about it the more they shouldn’t do that at all, micro transactions should stick solely to mobile games.

I would be very unhappy with any microtransuxtions (as you cool kids seem to be calling them) in a main Animal Crossing game*. DLC, sure, a new area to visit, new shops perhaps on the main street, some new kind of venture to bolster the main game, why not indeed. Nickel and diming people to finish a set of furniture? Paying to speed up wait timers? I can't think of a more efficient way to strip mine all of the charm from the series.

*identifying "main" games as I know Pocket Camp indulges. I also hate PC - it looks like Animal Crossing but the soul is gone, replacing kooky character and emergent play with cold weightless transactional encounters.

Seems that the game will integrate with a phone app; presumably the existing Nintendo app. I wonder what functionality this will offer? Maybe in-game chat if you're visiting a friend's island? Or perhaps some form of trading / item tracking?

Random thought, it’ll track distance walked via the phone app which you can then trade for Nook miles when you load the game back up?

Being realistic it’ll probably just be for voice chat like with Splatoon 2. Trading could work but they might feel it detracts from the experience of visiting other people’s islands, would also take the fun out of the turnip market if you can just log onto the app and can cash in on the best price.

Probably the same.as Splatoon 2. Chat. I think it has another function but can't remember.

You can order gear on the Splatoon 2 app.

That could potentially be a good fit for AC.

Didn’t know that was a thing with Splatoon 2, would work well for Animal Crossing if you can be out and about doing stuff and get an urge to order a few things that will be delivered to your island by the time you get home.

Was really tempted to get this case; it looks awesome! Simple but so slick. But... I already have a case. Plain grey, but it does the job. Am resisting!
