It can't find you - did you accept my request?
Or do we need to be in game friends rather than switch friends for me to visit (ie do we need to have met already for me to come via non dodo code?)

Nah not at all, I am convinced I looked there by pressing X to look behind the tree but I guess I mustn't have done! I was more upset that you found me with 10 seconds left out of 10 whole minutes on your go :x :lol:

I had to hastily quit because my Switch was down to 4% and dropping fast because I was online!

So it isn't possible to visit your Switch friends' islands through open gates, or have them visit yours; you have to have met in-game first (via local play or Dodo Code) which then makes them in-game friends, at which point they then count as 'friends' for the purpose of open gates. Nintendo :fp:

nope. i met pretty much everyone on hear without a dodo code first time round, you just need the open gate and their friend code. dodo codes are only needed if thats how the host set it

You need to be in-game friends before you can send items in the post, but yeah open gates should work for Switch friends.

I wonder if it is something stupid like you have to reload the game after adding a friend. Who really knows with Animal Crossing online, it could be any number of problems :lol:

Not sure if I should buy it and a couple of my mates have started playing it. They kept talking about it and told me that I should get it.
