Yeah, I popped back on for a bit and...it's just missing something. It's all so generic, from the mech design to the Pandora-esque landscapes to the bland hub area. After something like Warframe, and the sheer power/speed each frame gives the player, this is just ponderous.

Pass.

If they had huge monsters to fight or swarms of mechs. Or the mechs were big and not iron man size then it would spice things up a bit. The 3 titans in the story mission were just three humanoids with fire wave attacks. The spider boss thing was very generic. If the game has more to offer now is the time to show it off.

The end game seems to be 3 grand master difficulty levels, which works in diablo 3 as it has a ton of content and each zone is different with different creatures. Anthem has 3 strongholds in th full game and one is in the demo.

Also the amount of people on YouTube who are now EA Game Changers and pushing this hard is really pathetic. The Division 2 will destroy it.

Wish my image sig would work

What put me off was my complete inability to play the VIP demo for almost 2 days.

Also I'm only going to play this as part of a group and I don't think this game will have one from here.

It really doesn't make sense that they do that gooseberry fool now as all it does is disappoint and anger people when the game is nowhere near as good as the reveal trailer.

Played this for over an hour on Friday and it's awful, like really awful. In this day and age hitting a loading screen every 5mins is not justified. Also, on X1X the performance is terrible, worst game since PUBG in Preview to be this bad.

Played about 45 minutes to an hour of it and.... meh.

It wasn't bad, but the gameplay was so unbearably beige. Been there, done it before, and if I'm doing it again it's gonna be on The Division 2.

Didn't help that performance is shite regardless of platform. I just put it down to my PC not being able to push 4K at a consistently high rate (I was getting mid 20's up), but even dropping the resolution and quality settings had no real effect beyond a frame here and there. Digital Foundry's article on performance bears this out saying that performance is pretty bad across the board.

It's a hard skip from me.

I was really looking forward to this but it looks like it's going to tank and the initial impression from nearly everyone is that it's middling at best. I have a 1080ti and from what Digital foundry are saying I'm going to struggle to get 60fps out of this...

I have a 1070 and it's the first game in ages where I've had to whack down a bunch of quality sliders at 1440p. I honestly don't even think it looks that impressive. It's beautiful no doubt about it, but the blandness of the art style means I still think something like Destiny 2 is a better looking game.

NickSCFC posted this in the Mass Effect Andromeda thread and I thought it might be relevant.

It's going to be sad to see Bioware and Bungie suffer the same fate due to the two greediest publishers in the industry pushing them towards producing the same game.

The loading screens are unbearable at the moment.

It wouldn't be so bad if you had a long loading screen only at the start and end of missions, but I did one mission where there was a loading screen mid-level as well, and everyone in the party came out of the loading screen at a different time so one or two people are halfway across the new area before others even get out of the loading screen.

I might try and move the game over to my SSD instead (Playing on PC) and see if loading times improve much.

Apparently load times were even worse in the demo, so if this is an improvement then strawberry floating hell it must have been god awful.

I only played the VIP demo for about 30 seconds as the movement in the hub world was so slow I thought the game had broken :shifty: .

The fact it took me 2 days of trying and getting stuck on the initial loading screen didn't help.
