They were only testing how many people they could fit on each server before it died last night. Hopefully in a week or so that will be over with. It's hard to do anything really when that's going on.

So I wouldn't really worry about it being crap just yet.

I used all my pistol ammo up on random civilians, when it came to doing a mission I had no ammo and an agent turned up with some kind of M16 thing. Needless to say I died

Is it obvious to tell who are the good guys and who are the bad guys?

I used all my ammo firing at the enforcers  Alas, it did nothing :x

Well it seems both sides have 2 'gangs'

In the social area everyone is mixed up together, and each side has a building specific to them. As the name implies, this is for socialising only.
The other area(s) are for missions etc. Everyone pretty much looks identical right now, and all names above their heads are coloured grey.

During the mission I mentioned above, a red named person approached me and killed me. I'm guessing this was a PvP fight slaughter. It was quite obvious he was out to get me.

To be honest, with the server load tests they were checking out, it was hard to make out what was going on exactly. Also we have been supplied with no FAQs/Help menus in the game, so it's a case of figuring out things for yourself.

Right now a big priority for me is finding out how to obtain ammo with no money, and a reload button

I had trouble trying to get a big box of drugs in a car.

Turns out I should have put the box in the boot. It makes perfect sense now.

I'm so used to GTA doing it all for you.

Yeh things are not very clear. Any help prompts seem to flash on the screen for a few seconds, before you've managed to read half of the tip.

I was mugging AI pedestrians mostly, and collecting phones/jewelry/bags etc. I was told that I should take these items to drop off points for rewards, but when I got to one I couldn't figure out how to drop the items off.

The 'F' key seems to cover most things I've found. If you run around while spamming that, you can get into all kinds of trouble.

I think you can turn things on your map on to show dropoff points. I read this on the official forums.

Unless I turn my res down to 800x600 (which incidentially has no graphical slider, reported as a bug already), I get about 3fps! :fp: (hates his HD3200 :x ). I didn't get any music playing either and I tried to get Out of Bounds on the social area but to no avail after about 20 mins of dicking around. REALLY can't wait to get that HD4770 card soon, will be a HUGE help on unoptimised code like this!

I'm sure the graphics are locked to either Low or Medium, depending on your card. No one can change them right now, it's not a bug.

Audio I've found to be an issue. If you ALT+TAB you seem to lose sound, unless you restart the game again. Music only seems to work in cars, and then that seems to be hit and miss.

You need to go into the music player and change the settings. If you select 'headphones' it plays all the time.

Downloaded, it took less than an hour to update yesterday. I've also not played it for weeks. I only played the first few nights

APB allows you to create custom theme music

The upcoming action MMO will have the most sophisticated in-game music creation tools ever seen

"The music studio in APB lets you create two things: songs and themes," Stuart Ross, Senior Sound Designer said on the latest APB podcast. "Themes are short five-second pieces of music that are applied to your character and played back in-game, and songs are longer pieces of music that you can export from the music tool into your track list - then you can play them back in your car."

The level of control enables players to create a range of complex music, and works much like professional software. "The music tool itself is based on real music editors, so if you're already familiar with these things you should be ready to go," Ross explained.

“The music tool is based on real music editors”

The music tool gives players just as much control as the character customisation options that have already been demoed for the game. As well as plenty of cops-and-robbers type action APB will enable players to create in-game wealth with their own brands as a tattoo artist, fashion designer, vehicle painter or musician. Way back at last year's Develop Realtime Worlds' Dave Jones demonstrated the musical themes, which can play everytime you kill an enemy...
