Also nice job on 2 wins in a row! Did you use the same legend and thus get the "2 in a row" badge for them?

I think the battle pass is decent. As is the norm if you get to the end you get enough credits for the next one on top of enough blue currency to craft a legendary of your choice which is nice. Plus having skydive emotes and those holotag thingies for each legend is nice!

I tend to wait til I get to the end of the free battle pass before buying it to ensure I get the credits back out again, but I've hit that easily the last 3 seasons.

Yeah both games as Mirage. Today’s games have been utter dire bullshit. Not won a single one and I keep getting paired with the most simple of team mates.

Do you want me to send you an invite if I see you on?

If it makes you feel any better sometimes you just don't win one for a while

Last night I won two almost back to back with randoms, sometimes you just get lucky :)

Yeah no gooseberry fool on that win one for a while :slol: it was a depressing day for games yesterday with gooseberry fool drops and team mates who rush off, get killed by a full squad then expect you to come and revive/retrieve them. Unlocked Loba (dat ass) and Octane, been doing better with Octane and rushing people.

I've been playing a lot of Loba too. Both her abilities are really fun IMO. Love how the little teleport feels to use, and the shop is super useful.

Thieves best friend needs tweaking IMO, your extremely vulnerable when teleporting with enemies about.

I think that's the point.

Wraith's ability has a delay at the start and end too. They don't want characters having get out of jail free cards (unless it's Octane apparently :slol:)

You have to think about how to use it, not just throw it out when you're in trouble.

To a certain extent Horizon and pathfinder can also "get out of jail free" but I agree that Loba's tactical isn't meant to be used like that and you're supposed to be vulnerable while teleporting. It's great for repositioning from cover to another point of cover or getting out of buildings that are being stormed.

Some reasoning being that from a developer comment on reddit:

But yes, the main reason we can't just bring everyone up to Lifeline/Wraith/Pathfinder's level (Gibby isn't anywhere near their level of power) is that we're then stepping away from making a gun game and approaching making a character game. Not that that's a bad thing by itself! I personally think Overwatch is a super fun game, and it's an FPS I've been returning to since it released (Moira main here btw if you needed another reason to dislike me ;P), but it's not the game we're making here with Apex.

You can do serious damage to the fun of a game by making changes that individually don't seem broken. Like say we made it so Caustic could shoot his own barrels while they're still in the air for an instant airburst that leaves a cloud of gas where they exploded. Cool! Only now he's pushing you with essentially three gas grenades, and his ability to use his tactical well trumps your ability to position and aim well. Say we give Loba the ability to teleport quickly and silently and suddenly you're losing fights not because the other team planned an ambush or executed better, but because they saw you and reacted to you by putting one of their members behind you. And of course you'll say cool we can counter that with OTHER abilities, but now we're talking about a game of ability vs ability rather than gun vs gun.

There's still a lot of cool gooseberry fool we can do that only reinforces the supplemental role of abilities in the game, and yes, there's some power we can give to the worst performing legends without breaking the nature of Apex, but it's not enough power to bring them up to the likes of Wraith.

Wraith is uniquely useful in our game: all three of her abilities have clear in-combat uses ACROSS ALL SKILL BANDS. They're also all uniquely useful both for selfish and selfless use cases. It's so rare to have abilities like her passive that are useful to people who are entirely new at the game as well as pros in the ALGS. We can't change that without breaking the pattern of Wraith's abilities, and we really don't want to do that. I personally think Wraith deserves to be one of the strongest Legends in the game because she IS uniquely well designed and cool. My issue is more with "should she live at +8% avg win rate or +4%". (She's at the former; I'm trying to bring her closer to the latter)

Pathfinder and Horizon are vulnerable the entire time though, Loba and Wraith can relocate without having to make themselves vulnerable which is very powerful.

Anyways I'm glad they have that mentality.

I like Overwatch but strong abilities can turn games into who you pick rather than the decisions you make, which I don't think is very engaging especially for a 20 minute long match.

It gives you some idea as to why they nerfed caustic though. His ability could singlehandedly win him fights if used well and there's no counter to it other than waiting.

Oh god, playing on PS5 and I’d say without a doubt it’s the worst platform for you to get teamed up with absolute plebs who haven’t a clue. It’s honestly making me rage. One game, no life and no syringes and messaging the player who was Lifeline and forcing my character to say I need health and they would not use the medical bot and would they strawberry float use it and everywhere had been looted. Needless to say we died.

Bloodhound Gang, yeah loads and I mean loads who play as Bloodhound and never once scan for enemies/positions. Seriously, the strawberry float are they even doing playing :x

Have you tried giving them friendly advice on mic?

I don't get it when people rage and just expect everyone to be pros at the game. Especially a free game.

Maybe if at least one person had given them some advice over the mic they would know what they're doing wrong.

I recall we had a game with a third person and I spoke up on the mic about the med bot several times, and didn't get it. It wasn't until I said "please press Q, it will heal your teammates" that we got the healbot.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I assume this game balances the teams. So if you’re a decent player, and matchmake with randoms, you’re going to get teamed up with people who are less competent, and that’s a cross you’ll have to bear. Or if you’re a duffer/beginner (me), you’ll be fighting alongside more accomplished players, and you’ll always feel like you’re letting the side down. This is bad enough, without those players giving you grief for being gooseberry fool.

(A general observation on the theme, not aimed at anyone in this thread.)

I don’t use a mic and that’s probably for the best but when my character is saying “I need health” every time I press up on the D-Pad and I’m hitting them with a melee over and over until the get the message (along with actually typing out a repeated message which I’m pretty sure is on default in the settings for messages to appear) that hey, Lifeline player, drop a strawberry floating health bot. I’ll admit I’m gooseberry fool at the game but hey I know how to use a strawberry floating button to use a characters skill when needed

Don’t even get me started on the obvious Switch players who run around looking like they are controlling the game with their feet

Dude just post in the discord chat when you want some team mates, I'm sure at least one of us will join you.

I just had one of the worst teammates I've ever encountered.

He solo dropped, hid until me and my team mate had been downed, then ran over to me, shot me in the face a few times, purposefully not reving me, then run up some stairs and got killed by an enemy.

Is there a way to report people? All clicking the report button on PS4 does is show their PSN profile.

New legend reveal, and they're buddies with Rampart :D

Also kind of funny that they've taken character names from Rainbow 6 twice in a row now.

Sorry for the quad post, but I just want to point out this game is getting a 3 Vs 3 mode on the 4th

It's no longer just a battle Royale. Thought it might interest a few new people :)

Yeah updated earlier but the servers are borked to fuckery. Locked out of all unlocked Legends bar the top row, never mind locked out can't even access the Legends tab to purchase Valkyrie :slol: But from the little of Arena mode I've played I've enjoyed (Again, servers LOL)

Won the last 2 games in a row in Arena :toot:

Any chance I can be bumped up from Grunt in the Club? :shifty:

Aww I liked the Brazzers vibe of everyone being a mod except you.

(yes I will do that next time I'm on!)

My biggest arena streak is five, I'd really like to get 7 at some point though as that's my lucky number :)

I don't think I'll ever get bored of the combat in this game, it's so good.

I've always loved round based shooters (TLOU, R6) so this arena mode is perfect for me.

Yeah the combat is nice, struggled trying to go back to COD MW's MP. I enjoy Arena when you have good team mates.

These chucklefucks actually called me a gay noob scrub at the end after winning all because I called them both idiots for running away from the last guy who was reviving his other team mate (Who both died outside the ring anyway :slol: ) LOLWUT :dread:
