Two games in, two games where I got shot before I could find a weapon. Third game went slightly better. I'm hoping I can get better at it, as I haven't had much of a chance to explore yet.

Just had a few games with Fade on ps4. Good fun from when I was alive long enough.

Was taking forever to download HD packs D:

All seems workable and OK. Made me want to resubscribe to PS+ to play Overwatch so that's good.

Don't think Epic are going to be worried about this one.

Hd packs?

Well it's not going to compete with Fortnite, but there areany people who dislike fortnite because of the constant changes and building mechanics. And also the over reliance on camping.

This game is for those people. And I think it does a fantastic job, I hope it does well. I can certainly see it doing better than PuBG eventually

No. I think their point is for example if you have insane mobility then the terrain has less impact on the strategic planning of the game. Positioning is less import and it puts more focus on twitch gunplay.

Will wall running and jumping there's no "This guy is over here, you push up behind him and I'll distract him up front" because if he thinks he's surrounded he can just run away, and he's less likely to be in a static position in the first place.

I mean in chess if every piece was a queen and could move everywhere it would ruin the game. Making positining important can give games a lot of depth.

Any idea if you can still get a game of Titanfall 2 online? I’m tempted to pick that up as it’s so cheap.

From the last time I played it you could on some game modes (hard to get one on Hardpoint which was my favourite mode which was a pain) and always got in a game of Frontier Defense which I loved.

These games are really strawberry floating unwelcoming aren't they? It's like, here's the basics, you can learn all the rest in between getting murdered over and over. :|

Seems like a more interesting game than Pubg at the moment, but I'm not really sure this genre is for me.

Mates and I are giving this a proper go tonight. Hopefully it'll break the hold PUBG has over them.

I could have told them that from the pitch.

It’s pretty disappointing we’re not getting Titanfall 3. If I was going to play a multiplayer by Respawn I think I’d just try getting a crew back into T2 rather than try this just because it’s Battle Royale.

Also it seems like an odd time to release it with Anthem around the corner.

I thought the opposite myself, Fortnite getting stale and community crying out for a change, most of the casual players and kids have been put off by Blackout as it's now nails and most players are very good, and PUGB struggling compared to the other two anyway. It seems like perfect timing for it to leap out of nowhere and grab mass market BR players attention and get them to at least give it a go, as it's free.....not sure Anthem is really it's competition.

Anyway, I quite like it, and have had quite a few games now, Level 10, two wins in (pretty good going and quite happy with) It wipes the floor with Fortnite for me, not so sure how it will stand up vs Blackout in the long term though.

So 2 of us loved this and one didn't we're hoping that'll migrate us onto this between PUBG bouts.

It's really really awesome, special props to the gun sounds though, they are so beefy.

Still not managed to get a kill  :(

I panic and don't know what to do.

My strategy is hang back in my squad. Let them distract others. Run away. Skirt around edge of circle. Keep hiding.

You haven't killed anyone at all?

Just don't be afraid, play super aggressive for a few games to get the fear out and practice vwith some of the guns. Try landing in the high gear zone or supply ship.

This was the thing that stopped me enjoying it to start with. As soon as you stop purely trying not to die, you'll enjoy it a lot more. This game is far more forgiving than most Battle Royale style games, plenty of ways for you to recover and get back into the game.

That, plus the excellent communication tools have elevated this to the best in the genre for me. I'm actually really enjoying it now, even managed one win! :-)

I mean, I guess it is more forgiving, but in a way that's fair. The abilities and respawn system give you more control over the outcome of the match, in games like Fortnite loot RNG plays a much larger role in how well you do.

For example the other day I dropped down and couldn't find a gun, so I used Gibraltar's sheild when this guy was in a room with a pistol and punched him to death by dancing in and out of the sheild.

Similarly if you don't get lucky and can't find health packs of you have lifeline on your team you can still heal.

It puts more control in your hands and it feels great.

Also, the higher rarity guns ARE more powerful, but not much, which I also really like.

Just downloaded this for PC but not had a chance to play it yet. I've been playing Fortnite for a bit and I just don't enjoy it. I spend ages running round the map and die the first time I see anyone. I'm also not interested in the building mechanic at all. I preferred playing Quake Champions to be honest. Very interested to see how this stacks up, as from what people have said it seems very positive.
