Apex Legends - Out now on Switch.

I'm sorry I won't be joining you Fade but I'm really done with the whole Battle Royale genre I just don't enjoy what for me is a cliff face learning curve.
I suppose it didn't help that our first game was over in the blink of an eye when we got dropped into an instant fight that I lost because I had no weapon and had never played the game before but being completely outplayed is pretty much my entire experience of these games now.

Last night we won a game and then the next we dropped and got murdered cos we didn't find a weapon in time.

Basically..that kinda thing happens but not that often, I don't think you can really form an opinion on this based on that one bad drop.

I had more games and managed to have a few where we ran about exploring for a while but I just wasn't enjoying it as I never felt I could improve because I just get destroyed in firefights so I don't get to know the gunplay because it's all over in seconds.

I'd say 'git gud' but if you don't have the will to there's no point. For me, Battle Royales are my fave genre at mo. Don't get me wrong, they're not all good, I think Fortnite is absolute dogsh*t, with the building mechanic ruining any success in actually f**king shooting and then it has the jumping shotgun ridiculousness.

Blackout in CoD4 is very good but I can't play it much cos mates hate it...and this has now taken it's place firmly. PUBG, although performing awfully at times scratches that tactical itch and is more strategic and realistic, that it has it's place. I'm looking forward to see what Battlefield V brings to the BR table, it could be rather special.

Don't get me wrong I can 100% see the attraction but I've never been good at shooting which is why I play as support class characters and shooting is pretty crucial in this so I'm always going to struggle.
With games like Last of Us I was the healer who gave out gifts and in Battlefield I'm the Medic or Mechanic and I feel I can help a squad but even when I play as a medic in this I know my piss poor shooting is going to cripple any team I'm in.

I'm not bashing the game and I know I only scratched the surface but it just isn't for me.

Had some. Good games with Redbull Ninja tonight. I am so pants at this but I love zip zooming about with Pathfinder's zip line.

I won a game on my own last night, it was amazing, my squad died to the zone when there were about 8 teams left so I spent the second half of the match carefully moving from one building to the next all while stating in the zone. Then I found a mastiff and came up behind two guys who were just outside the building I was in taking fire from up hill, because they were so close together the mastiff hit both of them at the same time and wiped them out. Then as the ring got really small i just hid inside the only building inside it and the last guy came at me with an smg but my mastiff murdered him.

My heart was pounding so fast

I had about four games in a row last night and finished 20th, 19th, 19th and 20th. Not my finest hour.

That happened to me as well. Usually because my team decided to drop in a stupid place. Most of 5ose games Igor the only kill or revive though so I know I was doing my best. Just gotta chalk some games up to bad luck.

I had the worst team mate yesterday, he ran MILES across the map on his own, then proceeeded to die, despite multiple attempts for me to communicate with him to group up. Then he quits as soon as he died so i can’t even respawn him.

I was so mad.

Yeah, this is annoying. It's like, do they not even understand the game? Worst thing is when you battle through another squad to get to them before you've realised they've quit. :lol:

Gave this a couple of goes last night, it's certainly more appealing than Fortnite ever has been to me but I don't think it has "clicked" with me yet. The movement and ping mechanics do seem great though, just need to get a bit more practice in I think.

Mate of mine is a demon at this (he's regularly taken out an entire squad alone), just seen this on my feed from last night, seem like his team mates disconnected - what a way to win a match. :lol:

Why the gooseberry fool do people insist on landing in the hot zone. Surely anyone with half a brain knows that the best way to win at this is to avoid too much combat. :fp:

So many squads of mine have headed straight for the dropship. It's infuriating sometimes, as you usually end up dying in seconds.

It depends on the mindset, I mean I understand your point and we don't do it but I think some people want action fast.

On PUBG we don't really like Sanhok or Miramar so we tend to drop into the meme towns (places where most of the server drop in) cos the action is so intense that games over fast (which is ok) or we get the best loot (which again is ok). If one of us dies we simply try to kill everyone or die and quit if we survive.

We actually won in Sanhok after such an occasion having about 4-5 kills each under our belts.
