Avoiding combat certainly gets you down to the last few more reliably, but are you actually having as much fun playing that way? All depends on what you want out of the game I guess and some people just want a chance to dive into the action and see what happens.

This. BUT, I do like collecting loot at the start, getting good armour, modding your gun etc, that part can be quite addictive and for me, is some of the lure for me in PUBG and This.

Yeah I enjoy that aspect as well, plus as a fan of stealth type games I do quite enjoy the experience of skulking around, avoiding people until I can take them down on my terms.

The squad nature of this tends to promote a bit more of an active involvement than that though, it's harder to play the stealth ninja approach when you're trying to make sure other people are having a good time and stand a chance of winning as well!

I'm not saying you should avoid combat altogether, but starting somewhere more remote and gradually battling a couple of squads on your way to the next ring makes more sense to me than a big punching fest.

Titanfall 2 has seen numbers in it's MP multiply on all platforms since Apex's release.

Hanging back and skulking around does make the game unspeakably tense though. There's very little ambient audio (no wind or music) so when you and your squad have finished looting and you're just moving around, the world is silent but for distant gunshots. I enjoy the disparity between this quiet and when you get into a firefight; the hectic cacophony of your hero, your teammates' heroes, gunfire, explosions, pings, and mates suddenly freaking out over mic. It really gets the pulse racing.

I got a legendary Kraber skin!

... Too bad I am absolutely terrible with it, and have picked it up maybe 3 times in 50 hours.

I tend to take my team into hot ones when I'm the jump master. I desperately need combat practice and would rather die early and try again than wait til the last 2 squads and get popped straight away.

Plus if your squad survives you are kitted up to the wazzoo with those spoils of war.

Would very much like to play with peeps on the ps4 if anyone's up for it sometime.

Holy gooseberry fool, when this is good it is good, eh?

Had some fantastic games with Fade earlier. When I figure out how to get screenshots and videos off my PS4 I'll share some moments such as:

- Saying "hey I'm using a peacekeeper so if you see the precision cho-oh my shitting jesus christ" as I stumble on a gold (fully upgraded) peacekeeper right then.

- ziplining behing an entire squad as they were pushing us downhill, taking their shields off on the flight over them and drawing their attention as our much better teammate kill em all.

- using that peacemaker with the precision upgrade to just wipe enemies out from a ridonkulous range.

-Getting a Bangalore to fire smoke where the enemy was, for me to grapple in and use the golden scope on my shotgun to see the enemies through it and get em all.

This is a bit special sometimes.

Also; "Mozambique here"

If you wanna post some footage I could give you a few pointers?

I'm by no means a pro but I've won a few games.

I'm also pretty bad (at shooting) but have figured out how to play to my strengths.

If you're on PS4 I'd gladly squad up with you and also give you some tips!

The popularity of this on Twitch is mental. I think it's been the top game ever since it came out and it's currently more than 4x the viewers than the second most popular game

This game could save EA all on its own.

Really weirdly I’ve had a about four or five games where either a random has dropped us there (I’d never land there myself) or we’ve worked into their cautiously after looting elsewhere and all 20 teams have bottled it and it’s just a loot fest

Me and Falsey had two wins tonight. The first was on his twitch stream, which he says got a bit choppy, but I got the last two minutes of ours, only that was right after the big fight where we took out two squads lol.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Added yous.

For the amount of time I've put into this game I am really crap.

Ill have a game thinking "I did really well there!" and then my banner will say "2 kills, 230 damage" with my teammates on like 5 kills, 600 haha.

Currently favouring the Peacemaker (with the Precision Choke power up - my god that thing is ridiculous. I was screaming down the mic watching Fade snipe with a shotgun, doing 100+ damage from 60 metres away!).

I like the Spitfire or the R-301 (is that it?) as a backup. Not amazing with snipers but it's the best I've been in a while. Btw the range reading on the sniper scope automatically adjusts for the enemy's terrain, so if the scope says "300m away" put the 300m marking over the enemy and you should hit em, regardless of if they're lower or higher than you (this is apparently an industry first!).
