I will very literally have limited play time over the next week, and will then be unable to play for at least two months (moving abroad temporarily). Will see if I can get online during some evenings.

May I interest you in a spitfire with a purple magazine?
Decided to download this and give it a go, had a mixed experience so far. First few games were good, surprised myself by getting a good few kills in relatively quickly, even got to 3rd or 4th in one of them. But then I had a run of five or six awful games where I couldn't find a gun anywhere and got massacred straight away. It's probably a case of me needing to work out where the loot drops are and working on my landings, but it is really annoying to drop, run around looking for loot and then get shot in the back by someone who obviously knows their way around a lot better. In my head I've mainly been comparing it to Fortnite as my BR of choice so vs that this is what I think so far: +Gunplay seems very polished and seems like there's a fair bit of depth with customisations -But also that makes it quite confusing for a newbie dropping in and being confronted with all these items and weapons that are hard to examine in any depth mid-game without falling behind your squadmates/getting violently murdered while distracted +Mobility is very good +Ping system is handy +Different characters add extra depth to tactics -Guns seem a bit sparse -Don't like the kill count/rank being displayed - I had several games where it was me and someone with a really high kill count where they just disappeared as soon as the match started, I'm presuming because they didn't want to play with a noob -Map seems a lot more bland than Fortnite's
Will have another few sessions and see if I get more stuck into it, although given Fortnite season 8 is about to launch that'll probably steal all my BR attention for the time being

I'm still terrible but I have a lot of fun!
That's my second pick. It can be hard managing heavy and light ammo if your first find is something like a Prowler or a pistol, sometimes you have to gamble that you'll find something more useful on the way.
Backup gun is always the Peacemaker. It's brutal. The only downside with this strategy is if you end up in a long range sniper battle you're not much use.
Nearly got my first kill last night. Dropped in, grabbed a G7 and ran right round the corner into another player, got four or five high teen hits on them then I ran out of ammo
So Shroud has heavily implied that the Battle Pass /Season 1 will drop today, when the yanks wake up.
He also said that this was a "high octane game eh?" teasing the release of the rumoured next legend - Octane (potentially with the stim pack tactical/ultimate from TiFa2). The other ed rumoured legend pulled from the game files is called "Wattson" - potentially electricity based?
I didn't spend any of my free unlock coins on anything yet (paid for mirage to support Respawn and didn't fancy caustic) so looking forward to trying out the new guys!

I put it on earlier to enter that competition, found it completely pointless. You spend enough time watching other people play while waiting to be revived!
In other news - 1000G get! Hoping for more achievements with the battle pass.
After having some trouble getting kills I altered my controller settings to what was recommended in this video (but I'm using the "evolved" control scheme - jumping is on LB and crouching on the right stick) :
This has worked wonders for me. Immediately after changing it I got a win with 5 kills, and a couple of games later placed 2nd with 7 kills. Anyone that has played with me from here this isn't normal, haha (I was also playing a blinder with Pathfinder, flanking like demon).
My main mistake was putting the look sensitivity up too high. In games with short TTKs this is essential, but smoother aiming is key in this one, so lower sensitivity has helped a lot.
