Don't know if you're still playing but I'm on a chunk atm!
Anyone else playing season 5? I've gotten back into it after a year's hiatus and am very much enjoying it.
Although they massacred my boy pathfinder

Have you switched to anyone else yet? Or persevering with Pathfinder?
So I basically just play as everyone equally at the moment - pretty much just start at Bloodhound and then move one to the right after every match.
I'm having the most success as Gibraltar and Caustic - they're defensiveness suits me well and lets me get out of a tricky (read: every) situation. I like how Gibraltar revives people under his dome quickly.
Also been enjoying Bloodhound, who's ultimate feels much better now - last ages and makes you run even quicker. Mirage is also super fun now! And useful!
Loba is decent - my fave tactic of camping up somewhere high (those walls on the east of Kings Canyon) and having a late-game sniper battle is very much enabled by her, as she can teleport up and then use her shop to re-up without leaving.
Essentially I like everyone except Wraith.
I have not played since season 3, but i'm tempted to revist it. I'm not that good, but i am keen and a team player, so if that's something you think you could deal with then i might look in to playing some time soon. I think i got enough points to unlock Mirage and then stopped playing the next day! I should really rectify that.

I hadn’t played since the beginning of season 2! Down to team up when possible (my availability is all over the place and sometimes I can’t voice chat)
Im liking what they’ve changed (except for messing up pathfinder) and they’ve made Mirage Really fun and good now so great time to jump back in!

Even Revenant? I haven't been able to get on with him at all. Loba has been the best of the recent additions.

Sure, up for some games; give me a shout if you see me on. Its def worth unlocking Mirage - he's really good now!

Cool. I did actually unlock Mirage, i just only ever played as him once. He seemed good, i just seemed to stop playing for some reason. Something else must have grabbed my attention.

I like Revenant's fast crouch walking and higher climbing, and his Death totem is actually pretty good when you're pushing another team. I'd choose him over wraith but he is towards my lower tier of choices.
I feel like Revenant is there for people who want to play more of a "traditional" shooter and not worry about abilities too much?
Also been enjoying Crypto a bit! I found out that if you look at the "winning team" banners in your drone it will tell you how many squads are within range of your drone, and you can pick up your teammates death banners using the drone which is really handy.
I like parking his drone in the middle of where a fight will take place - gives you really handy intel in the middle of battle.
Season 6 starts tomorrow guys with a new Legend being released too.
Rampart looks to be another defensive legend, with her ultimate being a massive turret that anyone can use, and her tactical being a defensive wall that will block incoming fire and boost the damage of outgoing fire.
I wish they had some kind of death match mode in this, or sped up the rounds like Hyper Scape does.
I love the characters but the game is far to random for me to put any time into it. Too much stuff out of your control.
Also kind of wish they had a more standardised health and damage system. Really bothers me when someone gets lucky with armour right at the beginning of a game and you know you're dead as soon as you start trying to shoot them because they have way more health than you.

Perhaps some good news for you with this update!
ARMOR META With Season 6, we're introducing some big changes to the way armor works in the game.
First off, all armor in the game is Evo Armor (except the Gold Armor).
When you find a white, blue or purple armor on the ground, it's a pre-leveled Evo Armor. It can be picked up like normal, and continue to be evolved. Red Armor is not in the ground loot and can only be achieved through evolving.
Gold Armor is not part of the Evo Armor track, and is only found in rare locations as usual.
Another interesting change is that players spawn with level 0 Evo Armor. If you get in gun fights right away, and do enough damage, you will automatically level up into a White Armor. And you can continue to take that all the way to Red.
We think this will really help with loot availability in the early game, without requiring players to drop hot when they don't want to.
With all the changes in Season 6, players now have the opportunity to level up their shields through damage, luck in ground loot, or through crafting!
The last big differences is that all Armor is coming down by 25 health. This means, players with Purple and Gold Armor have 175 health, not 200. Red Armor gets you to 200 health, and you can no longer get to 225.
Our goal for this is to bring down the TTK (time to kill) a bit in order to better reward strategic positioning.
New Damage Requirements: Damage to white: 50 Damage to blue: 125 Damage to purple: 250 Damage to red: 500
TLDR - Basically all armour in the game is "Evo Armour" - this armour levels up when you do damage.
You do 50 damage, you get one notch of armour. Do 125 damage and you'll get 2 notches. Do 250 for 4 notches and 500 for 5 notches.
So you might still fall victim to the odd hot dropper who finds a purple armour, but this will be less common now and you'll have a fighting chance of having decent armour quickly - especially as this also makes it more likely you'll find good armour in other peoples' death boxes.
Also also there's a few limited time modes which would be very up your alley where everyone drops with a level 1 evo shield and there are no armour drops in the game, so you have to level up your armour (or steal other people's).
Apex Legends on next-gen consoles gets a performance boost, bringing the resolution up to 1440p as the consoles launch. A more extensive list of next-gen enhancements will arrive in 2021.
The new character looks so cool, love her ability.
I'm tempted to give this a go again because I love the guns and character design, but I always forget how much I hate standard battle royale design.
It's so inconsistent, as I get older I don't want to waste 20 minutes essentially rolling a handful of dice for: team mates, loot, enemy sweatiness and general luck. You can have games where you barely get to shoot anyone, that's fundamentally bad game design to me.
I'd rather play a game like Rainbow 6 where I'm going to get a more consistent experience.
Having said that, if they ever introduce some kind of death match mode I'd be all over it.

That's the beauty of the new club feature; no need to roll the dice anymore - in the GRcade club you can be sure of inconsistency and mediocrity all the time!

You're still at the whims of RNG in almost every other regard though. It's not really fun walking around for 10 minutes with almost no gunplay and then getting destroyed by a bunch of pros
I agree with you Fade 100%. And yet I keep playing it. On paper I hate the RNGness but I reckon the lizard brain in me loves the feeling of getting lucky soooo much (hi no context thread) that I subconsciously keep coming back to it.
I also hate how this is all 100%exactly how it's supposed to work too.
Anyway had some fun games with Winckle. I do love the amazing vistas and locales you can into firefight in in the new map.
