Movement in Ape Legs is pretty good though, it's not like TF2 level good, but it's pretty good.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Given the cross platform nature of the game, it would be a good idea to pipe up on the GRcade discord (and if possible use the voice chat there too!). That's what aayl1 and I used last night.

There's an auto sprint lock feature, pretty much encapsulates the traversal right there.

Doom also has a sprint lock key, but I wouldn't say the levels are large.

Original doom that's almost 30 years old or modern doom which has really interesting traversal?

Installed this yesterday with a mate as we were getting bored of hackers in Warzone. My god we're loving this! Feels a little more forgiving than Warzone but also really fun, loving the whole upgrades for weapons, the map is stunning and the characters are fantastic!

Considering picking up the Champions Edition with all the locked characters for £35 are the other characters worth the money?

Ooh glad to hear you're liking it! It is a really great game - the shooting and movement all feel great. Give me a shout if you have any uestons about anything!

I would say it is totally worth £35 - I have played it for hundreds of hours and have spent less money on it than that. I would only caveat that it is totally possible to unlock ll the characters for free (I did!) - you get enough free currency to unlock them every 15 levels or so, I think.

I regularly play a lot of the "locked" characters, Mirage and Caustic commonly get picked, and I like the odd game as Loba, Revenant and the new Horizon is really cool (though if you had to pin me down for a main I would say Pathfinder).

The man to ask here though is Winckle, as he bought the Champion Edition himself just yesterday!

What's your fave gun/character so far?

I'm not sure I was right to buy the Champion Edition - It was a bit of an impulese buy! aayl1 is a good salesman in that regard haha.

However, each character changes how you approach combat and movement, and even the combinations within your team provide more variety as well.

I also agreed that it was wise for you to wait til next month to decide if you liked the game enough, first. :P

So I would suggest seeing how much you play over the next couple of weeks - it's a bit of a paradox really. I wouldn't have bought the CE myself in your shoes as I couldn't be sure I would stick with it to make it worth it. But now I've been playing since launch (I skipped seasons 3-5) I can see it would have been worth it for me. But it's all moot as I unlocked the characters for free anyway.

Edit:
combinations within your team provide more variety as well.

Yes, especially Rampart and Crypto....

Cheers for the advice, I'll give it a couple more weeks before comitting.

Playing lots of Bloodhound at the moment with my mate switching between Gibraltar and Wraith. Loving the whole tracking pulse that shows you enemy threats really helpful when you can hear them near you.

Fav guns so far are the Carbine and the Longbow Sniper, already had a couple of awesome moments knocking a team of two out with long range snipes, feels really impactful. Best thing I've done so far is knock out a person behind a rock with a grenade and then as their teammate was reviving launched two thermite grenades and burnt them both down haha.

Movement is definitely an awesome thing in this, I did try using Pathfinder, but in the one game I used him I threw the game using his zipline. Was Kill Leader with 7 kills, 3 teams left and I ended up trying to launch over a gap to flank an opponent, instead I hit a corner and fell to my death

Is Horizon's spirit bomb as cheap as it looks?

Play a few games with aayl1 if you want pathfinder tips, his zipline game is on point. I really wish I'd captured the footage where he got us really high up on a suspended crate in the dock area and we wiped a squad a few minutes later by waiting till they were out in the open and rained down LMG fire on them.

Is that the gravity well thing she can throw? Not been too affected by it so far.

So is this crossplay now then? Seems like a good candidate for getting some more GR multiplayer games going!

Aye! Sign up and let me know your Apex name (account name of whatever platform you're playing on) and I'll invite you to the GRcade club. Same for anyone reading this thread!

Haha glad to see I can be reasonable helpful with him! Also in that game it was you on your own that wiped that squad from up there! I was off respawning zxe. Which I suppose just shows what great a position I got you in. ;)

If you get caught in it you are pretty stuck and reasonable helpless, but it thankfully has a fairly small range. Better for zoning sections off from enemies control.

We had a game where I played as her and sucked a Lifeline out of her cover and just blasted her with sniper fire while she was stuck. Very satisfying but I guess slightly annoying on the other side.

It was more annoying that it pulled in the car as well and I couldn't hit the enemy with the car in front of them!

Well our first ever wins tonight. Managed to get 2 of them, which isn't bad baring in mind it was our 2nd night playing it haha.

Very quickly becoming one of my fav games to play at the moment.

Got the Peacekeeper in one of the item drop pods and it rinsed at close range, ended up finishing as the Kill Leader too!
