It's not just the 64 move, they've taken away loads of connectors too early, dropping support for POWERPC apps. There was even a bit of a back lash when they removed floppy disks years ago.

I used PaintShop Pro for many years before I learnt Photoshop at college but I can't really comment on it now! It was however easy to use.

PhotoShop Elements can work, but is is very much stripped out of features compared to full fat PS. It always felt like a bit of a trial version. For example, it has no adjustment layers (interactive non-destructive filters) or basic things like Levels and Curves cools.

Personally, for the money, I would go with a direct competitor to Adobe's market share which is Affinity Photo, as it receives a lot of updates and development and also has companion apps.

Deluxe Paint on the Amiga is where it's at.

I've switched from Office 2011 to Office 2019.

I bought an MS Office (Home) download key for £29. All went okay at first - I downloaded the software and it loaded up - but then Microsoft said I didn't have a software licence registered for it. When I pointed out that their own records showed that I did, they said that I had bought an "OEM" version that wouldn't work on a Mac. When I explained that the software had downloaded and ran okay, they said that I should have bought a retail version rather than an "OEM" version... and "would I like to buy this from them?". Went back to the seller - Fast Software, a registered MS partner - and they said that MS had not fixed a software fault for the Mac version and they sent me a patch to update it. Eventually... it all now works!

Tl;dr I'm now using Office 2019 and, boy, there are a ton of changes from the older version I had. Gotta get used to all this!

I'm still using Office 2008 on Mac.. Well, hardly ever, but it's there, and licensed too

I quite like the window arrangement. It's halfway between office 2007 and 2001/2003, but with separate windows. The toolbars aren't unnecessarily big, and my resolution is only 1400x900.

I have office 2011 for Mac on disk somewhere. There are finally some Adobe apps I can't use without upgrading to 10.12 at least but I don't really need them.
