If you want the best of the best, I always buy Hard Graft sleeves for my MacBooks.

You will have to pick the 14" option from the dropdown.

It has arrived and it fits perfectly, I think they just forgot to update the description

Any good battery cases for the iPhone 8 anyone can recommend? Obviously getting towards Christmas and my mum is constantly complaining about her battery life (think the battery itself is at 90% ish, no idea when they recommend having it changed though?) but thought a battery case could be a neat Christmas present for her, she likes a case that covers the screen too so that’d be a plus as well!

I presume they work by constantly charging the internal battery from the external one till thats drained? Then it just runs off the internal?

You can replace the battery out of warranty for £49. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/iphone/ ... tery-power

Might be a better option?

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Yes that might be a better option, I was always under the understanding it needed to be at a certain % of its maximum value before they’d replace it :fp: Evidently I was wrong

Been with Three mobile for donkeys years, finally had enough of their terrible, downright gooseberry fool network coverage during Black Friday week so put an order in with Sky (TV/BB customer with them anyway) and after a long wait for the phone to come in stock I finally got my hands on my shiny new 13 Pro Max (From 11 Pro Max) and apart from the screen refresh rate the biggest upgrade for me is the bloody speed of 5G

Image

That gooseberry fool is about 5 times faster than my Sky Broadband speeds :toot:

Only 4 more sleeps too till I get my Series 7 watch from Santa

Anyone have any experience trading in with Apple? Looking to upgrade to a new IPad Mini, the website says they will give me £100 for my current IPad Mini 4, the only issues with mine is a few light scratches on the back, do they class that as damage? Wondered how fussy they are with that kind of thing

Finally got my iPhone and iPad upgraded to iOS 15, one thing I’m glad they’ve finally introduced is a battery saver mode for the iPad OS, its one of those things I’ve always wondered if it would actually make the jump from iPhone (and MacBooks I’m guessing?) to the iPad.

How you getting on with your MBP a couple months in?

My long moaning in this topic about my m1 MBA being a pain in the arse with random reboots has completely fixed itself, just like the guy at Apple said it would. Must've been teething problems of some kind and an update has eventually fixed it. Quite happy with the machine now.

The machine itself has been fantastic. I've not had one error or crash so far (touch wood). Still finding my way around the menu systems though. Not so much on the entertainment front, which is all pretty self explanatory, but in terms of file placement compared to Windows, how you're supposed to make use of Tags and the iCloud Drive, where things are actually going in Finder, stuff like that. What I've missed the most funnily enough is the simplicity of MS Paint. I downloaded Paint Expert from the App Store so I'm currently giving that a go. The Mark-Up tool is pretty good, but MS Paint is a lot easier for example if you want to bash together a load of various images or expand from scratch a blank-canvas workspace. Or just to draw something basic.

I did find out the new MacBook Pro's have an in-built DAC that can now handle rates of up to 96kHz, so I changed the settings in the Audio MIDI Setup, and Apple Music to Hi-Res Lossless and Dolby Atmos, and while it can't reach the highs of 192KHz without an additional external DAC plugged in (coupled with some ludicrously expensive headphones I don't have), I was still thrilled with the improvement to the audio quality when listening through my Sony XM4s.

I think in 7 years I’ve had one crash on my MacBook Pro. Never had a virus or Trojan installed it’s been amazingly smooth. Don’t really use iCloud much as I find it’s ridiculously slow and funny to use at times.

This happens far too often on Safari on Mac:

Image

It's easily rectified by simply refreshing, but if you're doing something that requires a 'next page' (such as a survey) it can throw the entire thing out, which is monumentally irritating.

Weird, I don't think I ever get that.
Are you using any Safari content blockers or extensions?

Are either of you using the Private Relay feature in iCloud? I wonder if that is causing the issue.

Had a Google, see if this is checked.

System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies > Secure Web Proxy (HTTPS)

If it is, uncheck it.

Anyone tried the 3rd gen AirPods? I hated the fit of the pros around my antitragus (lol) and wondered if these would be better?
