Thanks it's been very hard seeing people on the tube sat infront of me with their pros.
Yeah however I don't think it will be ideal for Instagram, Safari where you're just reading and looking at pics.
But for videos it'd be cool I guess.

If you're having to hit submit on your posts 5 times, perhaps a bigger screen might help.

I could just use Shift of course, but there's a few quirks with the keyboard that'll take some getting used to coming from Windows. The bounce on the keys isn't there, the Enter key is much smaller (so I end up hitting \), " & @ have moved. Minor things, but it's basically a case of trying to undo something that has become muscle memory for 3 decades.

In terms of the OS, I haven't encountered any issues yet surprisingly. Setting up the Canon printer for example was incredibly simple, it found it immediately and I didn't have to then install or change anything manually.

You can't change the caps lock thing as it's a hardware level feature. Apple consider it too easy to accidentally go into caps lock, or they just hate it, so there's always been a delay.

As usual, just assume your users are stupid and design out their problems. You get used to it, or rather yes, I never type with caps lock anymore.

You have to hold it down for a fraction of a second longer for the led to light green and activate caps lock. Try it out. Tap it fast and it won't turn on.

Buggers up normal keyboard people or people who engage caps lock on and off for every capital letter (I did this when I was younger )

I guess it depends on your writing style. the keyboard has a different feel to anything I've used previously. There's less travel, for sure. It doesn't have that...I dunno, jaunty bounce. It's still much better than the previous Air I tried in John Lewis a few years ago though.

The Magic Mouse itself is fine, though again the cursor feels different (even with tracking speed cranked up to maximum).

The quality of the screen, HDR implementation and audio is really fantastic; watching anything on this thing is amazing.

I do like the fact so much productivity software is included as standard. Notes has got a lot more going for it than the Windows equivalent, though an MS Paint knock off is missing (I'm already using the Markup tool).

Oh, and they've included Chess. Which is just inferior to Minesweeper and Spider solitaire really, isn't it.

You'd have thought an enormous corporation like them would have sussed next-day delivery by now.

Still 5 days to go until the wife's phone arrives :|

It's all about stock. If they've got it, you'll get it quick. But my watch shipped straight from the factory in China..

I'm intrigued to see what they do with the next MacBook Air. All my tasks are easily covered buy this computer so I'd need a good reason to "upgrade".

The flip-side to these computers base models being expensive is that they always hold value. So if I do upgrade to the next base model MBA I should get 60-70% back at least, for this laptop.

I have just got a 14” MacBook Pro and would love to be able to play command and conquer, I have read that the 2020 remastered edition will run on M1 Macs using something called Parallel, would it be the case of simply downloading it and it will work? I don’t mind paying but I didn’t want to buy it all and it either doesn’t work or is to complicated for me to install

I really would appreciate any help on this

Parallels is a Virtual Machine program, but you have to pay for it. You need an Windows .iso too (but that's easily downloaded from Microsoft). It's a piece of piss to set up, you're just basically installing Windows.

I picked up a mini after seeing the 12mini last year, and love it. It has certainly taken me a while (11 Pro Max) to get used to the size, some apps don't always measure up right but I find it more than perfect. Never really watched many videos on my other iphone to be honest so can't compare there.

I downloaded Parallels fine (they do a 30 day free trial) and installed windows with no issues, I then went on ea origin and signed up for a month pass because command and conquer is available on it, I then went to download origin and it does not download :( now I don’t know what to do

Has EA Origin moved over to using the Windows Store for its installs like EA Play has when you have it via game pass?

If it has, downloads can take a friggin age to get started on store for some reason, I installed something and it sat on "preparing" for nearly 2 hours before finally going "oh yeah, I'm meant to be installing"

In my case, no Broken Sword compatibility from what I can make out either (says iPad version not compatible with Mac). :(

Sim City 4 and The Sims 2 works though. :msgreen:

Looking on the App Store, there definitely isn't a dearth of quality and AAA games to play, but it feels better suited to those who don't care for playing the latest releases (apart from Disco Elysium) and can take or leave old stuff (for example they've got remastered Myst and realMyst but not original Myst; they've got all 3 of the new Tomb Raider games but not the originals; F1 2016, '17, DiRT Rally and DiRT 4 but not any of the new versions; Bioshock 1 and 2 Remastered but not 3).
