I have a iPhone 11 Pro Max and I find the size perfect and because I have had it for a couple of years now I couldn’t imagine using anything smaller, it’s 6.5” and the 13 Pro Max says it’s 6.7” looking on the comparison outline on Apples website it does seem to look quite a bit longer

Don't waste your time N1FFF. You will notice the difference of the pro max for about a week after getting it, then you will be used to it just like you already are with your Pro. Both phones have 120hz screens too. It's literally a waste of time and you are only tempted because of your 14 day return period imo

I had the 12 Pro Max and I hated the size. Unusable for single handed operation.
Now I'm on a 13 Pro and find it easier to use, and don't feel like I'm missing out on any screen real estate.

Don't get hung up on size envy. I've got a Mini, and it's plenty. Who wants an enormous bulge in their pocket? Anyway, when I'm at home, I've got a 12.9-inch whopper that meets all of my needs.

Apple takes a long time to ship items don't they?
You'd have thought an enormous corporation like them would have sussed next-day delivery by now.

Still 5 days to go until the wife's phone arrives :|

It's all about stock. If they've got it, you'll get it quick. But my watch shipped straight from the factory in China.

Like I said recently, Carphone Warehouse got my red Mini to me the next day.

I've got a Max and fits in my pockets fine. Could never go back to a smaller phone.

My new MacBook Pro M1 Pro turned up the other day. Slowly getting used to everything (such as minimise and close now being on the left rather than right with Windows, or the scroll wheel also being reversed as default - so moving your finger up scrolls the page down). Straight out of the gate I found that the gray magic mouse I'd bought needed either a new cable or a USB adaptor to charge it as the one supplied in the box uses a standard USB.

The sound and the screen are phenomenal; the notch a non issue; the caps lock on the keyboard however is crap.

Caps lock?
Edit: Oh you mean how you need to hold it down for a split second?

Yeah, I'll tap it as I'm typing and it's the one button on the keyboard that doesn't always register. I didn't realise it requires a sustained press - is there a way to enable it immediately?

I could just use Shift of course, but there's a few quirks with the keyboard that'll take some getting used to coming from Windows. The bounce on the keys isn't there, the Enter key is much smaller (so I end up hitting \), " & @ have moved. Minor things, but it's basically a case of trying to undo something that has become muscle memory for 3 decades.

In terms of the OS, I haven't encountered any issues yet surprisingly. Setting up the Canon printer for example was incredibly simple, it found it immediately and I didn't have to then install or change anything manually.

Updated to Monterey last night. Tried it a few times the day previously but kept on getting an error and the download failed whenever it got to a certain point. Turns out there was a Big Sur update from a few weeks ago that I hadn't installed yet and that was the problem.

Doesn't seem like a lot of major changes so far but thank god they reversed all the weird changes they made to Safari's tab layout.

Globe + Q for quick note has been very useful for me. Other than that, can't say I've noticed much difference asthetically

Really tempted to put the money from selling my iPad Mini towards a 12.9inch iPad Pro. I've still got my 2017 15-inch MacBook Pro that I don't really need since I got my M1 Mini too so I'll sell that (Apple are quoting £450 for trade in which is LOL). My new iPad Mini is brilliant for taking to uni, but I could really do with a bigger screen at home for sketching and designing stuff with the Pencil, plus a bigger screen would be better for a second monitor using Sidecar.

I've seen the most 4th gen 128GB 12.9inch Pros go for £679(!) on Apple's refurbished store but it's just a case of checking at the right time when they have stock. Doubling the storage is "only" £90 though and they seem to be in stock regularly, hmmmm.

The iPad arrived in opened condition but it was immaculate. The box was covered in stickers but happy to take that for £80 off! Plus, you can’t even find the 9th gens anytwhere.

I’d really recommend ElekDirect and if you’re not happy they’ll just take the item back no questions asked.

Aye I wouldn't mind it if the box for the case was opened and all that.

I was in the Apple Store yesterday checking out the new Macs, I think I prefer the design of the previous ones. These new ones look chunkier, much more similar to the pre-2016 ones before the redesign. I still think I'd go for an M1 Air or a 13inch M1 Pro if I were getting one just now, I'm not arsed about the lack of ports since I've got a hub.

Totally agree on the Mac front as well. Apart from that weird restarting issue I had for a few months, this is easily the best computer ive ever owned. If money is no object and your work depends on it and you NEED the extra screen size, then I can see why you'd go for the 14 or 16 inch pro. But I genuinely think getting the m1 pro or air and spending extra cash on the 16gb ram version would be a better use of money.

btw: how wanky is the Apple store in Edinburgh? I asked about buying an iPhone outright there a few weeks ago and was told id need to make an appointment for the next day to do so. Meanwhile, the geniuses just stand around doing nothing.

Swapped my work Macbook Pro 2017 for a Macbook Air M1. I don't do anything particularly intensive but one of our internal Web pages loads up PDFs to view and I always assumed the site wasn't particularly optimised for speedy opening. Feels so snappy on the Air though, very impressed. And the sound quality is incredible for such a thin device.

Not particularly light in comparison to the Pro. 1.29kg vs 1.36kg. Definitely the least noticeable difference.

The keyboard feels a bit more resilient too. More depth to pressing keys down. The only reason for swapping was the Pro keyboard "E" and "T" keyboard were falling off and tiny grit was caught underneath it making it a pain to type.

Swapping the scroll wheel to scroll in the right direction is pretty much the first thing I did. It's unticking "natural" direction in the Mouse settings which winds me up more then it should as I feel like I'm being insulted going with the "unnatural" option.

Thanks it's been very hard seeing people on the tube sat infront of me with their pros.
Yeah however I don't think it will be ideal for Instagram, Safari where you're just reading and looking at pics.
But for videos it'd be cool I guess.
