If I download this, will it work okay on my m1 MacBook Air? I’ve downloaded Steam on my mac so don’t see why it wouldn’t but don’t want to pay before I know it’ll run okay? Thanks

https://www.cdkeys.com/pc/football-mana ... c-eu-steam

Buy it from Steam directly to see if it works okay but don’t play it for more than 2 hours. Get a refund (piss easy to do) then buy it from CD Keys.

Wouldn’t it be even easier to just try the demo?

But it’s looking like a good bet anyway:

Cheers

Demo works aboslutely fine. Was more wondering whether the CD Key would work given it is only branded as "PC" and not Mac.

Ah, OK. The information tab on CDKeys does list the Mac specs, so I guess it’ll be OK.

It’s a slippery slope, you know.

Not having an extra cable on the desk looks good of course, for a desktop I really wouldn’t see the issue with one extra cable out of the back though....

Preordered an AirTag. Just to play about with but I'll probably end up getting a cheap third-party keyring and sticking it on my keys.

I was thinking how often I lose things, and it's not often, but I might be tempted to get something like them in the future to sow into the lining of my bags for peace of mind.

A few years ago I left my rucksack on a train. Reported it to Southern but I never saw it again. Would have been great to have something like that then.

I presume these could also be hidden in a car to catch thieves?

dropped my M1 MBA off at the Apple store today. It’s been having kernal panics since I bought it (random restarts).

48 hour turnaround time at the Genius Bar apparently :slol:

Aka Grey Screen of Death (with no information on it).

Your computer had a problem. Press any key to restart.

The app didn't crash. It simply rebooted to the home screen. It saved you the trauma of knowing your device isn't infallible or perfect. Even if it looks perfect; you made the right choice. That's not a crash. Apple products don't crash, they have problems. Sometimes. Not about as much as any other computer made at Foxconn.

I really need to get my pro fixed because its showing its age, without graphics acceleration. I bought the literally 1p capacitor that will fix it but eternally paranoid it will brick my main device.

But it still looks lovely, apart from the apple logo permanently impressed into the LCD (pressure marks) cos gotta have that glowing apple logo on the back so that everyone knows you own a mac.

My backspace key also fell off in normal use after 4 weeks lol.

Less cables makes you more stylish and creative. This is Good Design. You can only do creative, stylish things on a mac. Video editing or music on a Windows? Forget about it.

Final Cut X wasn't a gimped version of FC7 to appeal to content creators. One click Facebook upload!

I just use Adobe now (64 bit and multicore support plus cross comparability with bottom tier windows machines... that still work).

Methinks I need to get around to essentially building a Mac Pro as I have an OSX compatible all-Intel/nvidia motherboard and adding a nice screen. I don't really need to move around that much so it's probably best to relegate the poor old girl to £1650 Netbook status now, albeit weighing about 5x a Chromebook.

Bloody annoying given it’s an 800-1000 quid computer. :x they reckon it’s fixable but will replace if need be. I thought the whole point of the Genius Bar was to take your device in and have it dealt with there and then? I guess that’s Covid for ya.

In fairness, it is *easily* the best laptop I’ve ever owned. I was skeptical about moving to Mac OS but I’ve transitioned fairly easily. I’m sure there are windows laptops I could buy for a similar price that would be just as good but something about this just feels unbelievably snappy.

To be fair. You should be able to drop a laptop without the genius aluminium unibody warping.

Guess what plastic does. It absorbs shock, and bounces.

Aluminium? Well, it absorbs shock... And that's it. It just takes the full hit and transfers all that shock to everything else mounted in the device. Permanently disfiguring it.

Such a chronic case of being miss sold quality material science. A chassis made of other materials with a good sub assembly is a lot more shock proof.

It's a good machine but my god there are so many decisions that favour aesthetics over everything else. Even the bloody razor sharp edges which they did round off in subsequent models after realising... You know what. That's horrible to use for more than 10 minute.

I still need to get around to fixing a design problem by machining the edge off on my mill.

Sure yeah that's have the air intake and outtake in the same place through about 2mm gap. That'll work.

Anyway perhaps I'm being cruel. I have my macbook on a pig ugly riser with the imac keyboard at the moment anyway. Together with a mouse that isn't that stupid little ball thing with the tiny scroll ball that's failed in every single design/photo/editing lab I've been in.

OSX is a lovely fuss free operating system. Main thing I like about macs or I would obviously have jacked it in. That said, I'm very surprised how responsive other operating systems actually are on hardware that isn't 10 heads old. I have a tiny little dell optiplex with a 4 core Xeon and an SSD in it. I swapped my "superdrive" (which is an OEM part like any other laptop by the way) for an SSD on the macbook and upgraded the standard 5400rpm apple (made by Hitachi) hard disk with a 7200rpm Western Digital Scorpio Black.

I'm still constantly managing 4GB of RAM, I seriously nerd to find another stick :slol:

Got the Mac back today. No hardware issue identified so hopefully there is a software update coming out soon which will stop it shitting itself.

Excellent. I wonder if Rosetta was causing the problems?

Can't blame the hardware right.

Except when it literally is the hardware.

Oh but apple write the OS too. What's the system dump say? When you reboot the machine, copy and paste the error report.

I'm not going to pretend I have a remote clue what's causing it

I've not had any issues since I picked it up from Apple but I'll happily take up your offer of looking at the error code if it comes up again, cheers :)

EDIT: Just updated my Mac to Big Sur 12.3 and iOS 14.5 is out now as well.
