Glad I went into John Lewis today to look at the new MacBook Air as it put me right off buying one. It was positioned almost next door to the Microsoft Surface 2 Laptops (though not the black model, unfortunately) and it really showed up what a disappointing screen the Air has (it's not bright at all, surprisingly) and how terrible the keyboard is. Maybe you do get used to it after a sustained amount of use, but the travel of the keys is almost nonexistent.

The 27 inch 5K iMac however was mightily impressive.

I wonder if the standard iPads will come down any more at John Lewis, currently £20 or £30 off depending on storage. So a 128GB iPad is now £379.

Do Apple offer incentives around Black Friday as well? I know they don't normally decrease the actual products but have heard about them giving vouchers worth a certain amount if you buy a certain item.

Seems like Apple are definitely doing something between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we'll have to wait and see just what they're doing though.

Certainly no harm in waiting a few more days, even if it turns out to be next to nothing.

Never tried them myself, but they do have 3 physical shops and I have seen them promoted on places like Techradar and HotUKDeals. Apple Premium Resellers tend to be very good.

I don’t understand why the screen on the Air is so dim. It doesn’t look good on a retail floor, that’s for sure.

I guess there’s a good chance it’ll get updated along with the processor in Q4 2019, if not earlier.

I have been tempted but I don’t think I would notice much (if any) difference if I did, I am extremely happy with my X, if I were to upgrade it would be to the XS Max but I think it may be to big as the size of the X is the perfect size for both browsing and fitting in my pocket, I have the 256gb model so it has plenty of storage, it’s fast, great screen, great camera etc, I will be waiting until 2019 for a new iPhone

Yeah I went from a X to a Xs max. Camera is noticeably better.

Looks like it's just going to be gift cards of varying value depending on what you buy, anyone know if you can redeem the value off the same order?

Nope. Works in the same way as the Argos £5/£10 gift cards, and IKEA are also doing it on Christmas trees. You've got to put it towards your next purchase.

Thought that'd be the case, will have to see how much they offer as a voucher for the 6th gen iPad then and see how much it could save me off a potential iPhone XR in the future.
