Pros video and camera look ace but all in all nothing to convince me to upgrade from my X

iOS 13 is out next Thursday but you can download the GM version now by downloading the .ipsw and installing it manually using iTunes.

So the standard iPad didn't really get an upgrade, still using the same internals and just a bigger screen? At least that means my 2018 iPad will (well should) continue to get updates for as long as the 2019 iPad does.

iPhone wise there is nothing to even tempt me to upgrade, from the small amount I’ve seen about them isn’t it just the usual chip update but with 3 cameras for the Pro versions as opposed to 2 on the standard? If I used the cameras heavily on my XR then I might be ever so slightly tempted but I don’t and the XR’s camera is more than good enough for my needs. Holy mother at those prices for an iPhone Pro though

Looking forward to seeing what the iPad OS is going to be like to use when it comes out near the end of the month, I’ve not really been keeping up with what the major changes are going to be in iOS 13 and iPad OS, not expecting many major surprises really.

So IPhone 11 pre-orders go live today right? When will the price drop on the older (last year) models? I need a new IPhone as my SE is bashed up to buggery.

Yeh they went up at just gone 1PM. I got the vanilla 11 in the end, I couldn't justify twice the price for a Pro that doesn't have all the new technologies that next years model will have.

Guy at work is a massive Apple fan and was basically twitching all morning until it was time to pre-order one!

I will probably get an iPhone 11 (not a pro) but am not bothered enough to pre order, I can wait a few weeks if they sell out.

I've had it installed for a few days now:

dark mode
built-in swipe keyboard
big performance increase, especially Face ID and opening apps is much, much quicker now
Safari has a built in download manager now and lets you download stuff straight to the Files app
new photo and video editing features
App Store slightly redesigned
Memoji (if you have an X or higher)
completely redesigned Reminders app
some new battery charging optimisation thing
PS4 and Xbox One controller support

The XR starts at £629 now.... the iPhone 8 starts at £479

Nope, but I’m not interested in them so was never going to anyway.

Safari having a download manager should be good, dark mode I’ll have to wait and see.

It looks great but it's more beneficial to the OLED screen phones. The only annoying thing is that third party apps that aren't updated yet still have light mode, and same with their widgets so they stick out a lot.

Having a quick read on Apple’s site it sounds like there’s quite lot really, not long to wait before I can have a mess around finding what’s new myself.

Cancelled my iPhone 11 order and I just fixed my iPhone 6S Plus’ rear camera from shaking. You just have to give it a whack, or put a magnet between the case and the back of the phone below the camera. I probably should have looked this up 9 months ago when it started to happen :fp:

It looks like a design defect with the magnetic field from the top speaker, it gets the focus of the camera stuck

Does iOS 13 let you connect two bluetooth audio devices at once like it was rumoured to? Want to send music to two sets of headphones but I can't :(

EDIT: After a quick bit of googling, they're going to Apple this up, aren't they? :dread:

iPad OS update can wait until the weekend. I’m not fannying about learning its secrets tonight.
