iPhone 12 Production Lines at Foxconn's Zhengzhou Factory in China Running '24 Hours a Day'

Apple contract manufacturer Foxconn is running its massive Zhengzhou factory in China 24 hours a day to produce the new iPhone 12, according to Chinese media reports.

Apple's main iPhone manufacturer in China is said to be cancelling workers' holidays and introducing mandatory overtime with additional bonuses for longer-serving staff, according to information garnered from employees, recruitment ads, and local media.

The factory’s ‌iPhone‌ assembly unit has reportedly offered a 10,000 yuan ($1,466) bonus for any worker who started after September 18, stays for at least 90 days and works at least 55 days. For people who joined after September 26, the bonus was 8,500 yuan ($1,246).

Many employees have also been asked to cancel upcoming holidays around the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day this week to ensure timely delivery of the new ‌iPhone‌, initial shipments of which are rumored to be going out to distributors on October 5, with Apple's iPhone-centric event rumored to follow on October 13.

My AirPods keep losing connection well I don’t know how to explain it other than that.

They’ll be playing then stop, iphone will show music playing & connection to the AirPods. But there isn’t any sound.

Are my AirPods dying?

Try resetting them. The instructions to do so is a bit complicated but google for them. It includes making your phone forgetting the airpods too.

Just had a look at these new iPhones now. Ugh, the bezels and notch on the Apple phones just look genuinely atrocious now.

In terms of how it fits into the handset the display is just light years behind everyone else's practically edge to edge options at this point.

Camera updates look nice, but then I can't think of anyone who really cares about the camera quality on a phone these days. They've been good enough for a long time

Not as small as the iPhone 4.
It's a tiny bit bigger than the midway point between the iPhone 5 and 8.

No, it's not that small. It's just ever so slightly smaller and lighter than the iPhone 8 and the iPhone SE 2. It's not as small as the iPhone 3/4/SE1.

Preorders for everything are up now. Of course the store is dying on its arse but after 20 minutes I finally managed to order a space grey iPad Air with a 2nd gen Pencil and black Smart Cover.

I ordered through the app and it seemed pretty easy. Ended up getting a standard iPhone 12, rather than the Pro model I was planning to buy.

I would have ordered through the app but you still need to use their actual website store to get the education pricing discount. It's cheeky the way it has that section in the app but when you select it just opens the page in a browser.

In terms of next year, I wonder if they're going to call it iPhone 13 or not because it's deemed to be bad luck?
