Any content on Apple TV that's worthwhile? Or will be in the next 12 months? I've got a year free with my iPad Air and haven't activated the 1 year free trial but it's a use it or lose it situation rather than postpone indefinitely till must watch content finally is out.

Only thing I've watched on there is Ted Lasso. It's a football comedy but is very good.

I've been meaning to watch the alternate history space race show but haven't gotten around to it. I think my free trial is up soon so I should get a move on.

For All Mankind, really enjoying that. It’s a slow burner and takes a while to get going, but the special effects look so good it’s like being on the moon.
Trying is a nice little programme about a couple going through the adoption process. Mythic Quest is also fun.
I’ve watched and really enjoyed Tehran, See, The Morning Show, Servant, Losing Alice.

The battery on this m1 air is strawberry floating incredible. 3/4 days between charges. Only using it for about 4-5 hours a day for everyday tasks, productivity etc

A quick question I have tho. In regards to charging and cycling the batter (I know what 1 cycle is etc) is it better to have it plugged in all the time?

That stuff is actually managed by the OS now. If you go to System Preferences > Battery, you’ll see there’s an option which is enabled by default (I think) which will optimise battery charging.
I’ve had my macs plugged in constantly for years though and I’ve never noticed any issues. Wouldn’t worry about it.

My laptop is too old to do gooseberry fool. and I need USBs.

Basically I have an external HDD and a GOpro with an SD card. I want to move the photos from the SD card to my external HDD. I need 2 USB sockets to do this. And my laptop is borked. Is there a plug in I can get for my ipad (2018) to make this do the transfers. Or hell, maybe even my android samsung galaxy phone?

You can get an adapter that allows you to connect USB storage to an iPad. So I guess you could connect the GoPro, copy the files to the iPad, then connect the HDD and move them to that. But I’d check if the adapter lets you read files from the GoPro before spending anything.

Is your laptop really not capable of something so basic?

My laptop is absolutely awul. I have bought an SD UCB card reader for my laptop and it just wont recognise it. It asks me to update windows and then has no space to update. Blerugh.

Anyway I'm spamming two topics now. I can do on my android phone AND my ipad so thats good. I'll leave the chat here die and go to android thread as thats my preferred method.

Can’t vouch for it myself (don’t have a trackpad), but this one has been around since Apple introduced the horrible natural scrolling. Unbelievable that they still don’t accommodate people who want mouse and trackpad to behave differently.

Can anyone recommend a charger that will do both an Apple Watch and an iPhone? I see a few stands that you can charge both on at the same time but I don't know how good they are supposed to be.

I just want something a little less flimsy than the charger that comes in the watch box so if I can get something more stable that would be good!

Bloody hell, the new iMacs look smart. Going to be seriously tempted.

Headphone jack has to be in the side, because the machine is thinner than the length of the plug!

Tempted by the new iPad Pro because of the annoying storage options of the Air.

I wouldn't get one, but it's impressive. They're pretty much taken the iMac as far as it can go from a design point of view, it'll be mild revisions like phones and tablets get from here on I'd imagine.

I keep hearing complaints about iPad OS not being great for multitasking, so if you're considering both should only really go for the iPad if that doesn't both you or your going to use the pencil all the time.

M1 MacBook Air is better than anything announced today IMO
