Transfer was mostly painless, just some 2FA and banking logins didn’t make it, so it was a good thing I checked before wiping the 11 Pro. Would’ve been locked out of some apps permanently.

Haven’t even opened the camera app yet, lmao

What phone did you have before?

Still haven't had a time to have a proper play about with the phone but the new iPad Mini is lovely

I'm hoping they put out a software update as the home screen scaling seems a bit out. Lots of unused space around the apps and widgets.

If you go into Settings > Home Screen & Dock you can choose to make the icons larger (I think this should be the default setting on the mini anyway). Makes it look a bit better.

Thanks - ill do that when I eventually get one

Going from an 11 Pro Max to a 13 mini

It’s arrived but I’m scared to do anything with it until the case &’screen protector arrives. Can’t believe I used to just have a phone in my pocket & deal with it. Now I’m always terrified I’ll drop it or smash it/damage the screen :dread:

Feels just like my old 4S though :datass:

Doesn’t work without a case, though.

How come you went from a Max all the way down to a Mini? I've got AppleCare+ for the first time ever so I'm not going to bother with a screen protector. Glad I don't have to put up with the stress of applying one

It attaches, but it looks like it falls off way too easily unless you’re using a MagSafe case. Not sure I’d trust it.

I tried waving it about without a case on like those gifs but it still stayed attached, wonder if the 13 has stronger magnets than the 12.

Yeah, could be right. Still, be aware! Don’t go dangling the phone over cliff faces with it.

I never go caseless anyway when I'm out the house. Even with AppleCare+ now I still wouldn't :dread:

Not that anyone cares, but I rescind my gripes with my M1 MacBook Air. I unpaired a set of Sony wireless headphones I was using with it and the reset/ kernel panics I was having have completely ceased. I've pushed the computer to its limits lately with video editing, multiple live streams and games on the go at once and have had no issues.

That's weird. How many Bluetooth devices did you have paired with it?

It was just those and a bluetooth mouse. There was something the computer didn't like about it, clearly.

Though it could just be coincidence and an OS update might've fixed it I guess. Either way apple were unable to diagnose any problems with the hardware.

Aye, charged mine on Friday night and still had 30% left by Sunday night. I’ve been heavier on it today (4hrs 30mins Screen on time, 90 mins Screen off), but I’ve still got 64% left since 7am today so I’m not going to bother charging it tonight either.

My iPhone 6 has done great service for seven years, but despite saying I would stick with it for now, I think the time has come. Because it doesn’t get iOS updates (other than for security), an increasing number of apps are becoming incompatible, the latest of which is a killer: Amazon. I’m also thinking of getting an Apple Watch once the 7 arrives, and the iPhone 6 isn’t compatible with that either.

Totally undecided on what I’ll get - maybe a 13, maybe an SE - but I might have a few questions for you chaps. Firstly, it’s been a long time since I switched, and I’ll probably buy the phone outright instead of with a contract. Is it still just a case of sticking the old sim in the new phone?

Yeah, pop in the old SIM and it should work fine. Although, the new phones will support 5G and you'll likely need a new SIM from your carrier if you want to take advantage of 5G. Personally, I wouldn't say it's essential.

That’s a good point, cheers. Zero chance of getting 5G round here any time soon, but it would make sense to be ready for it.

Still think a GSOD is a bit pants but strawberry floating called it on the Bluetooth headphones :datass:

 well done.

That anomaly aside, I love this computer.

Have any of you guys with the iPad mini noticed the "jelly effect"? It's getting traction online and whilst I think it's always going to happen on a 60hz panel, I think the smaller form factor is making it more apparent? I don't have one though so am only commenting based on what ive read about,
