I’m usually android through and through but in the market for a new tablet to replace my dying nexus 9 and well they don’t really exist in the form factor I want (tablets should be 4:3 !)

Long story short I’m an iPad Air wanker now. Thing seems brilliant for web browsing and well tbh everything I would use a consumer laptop for. Typing in landscape actually isn’t awful either.

I may be swayed on iOS yet.

Definitely seems good for studying. I have pdf versions of the ccna course I’m doing for work and it’s a great experience.

I did go back and forth on the mini, the air is bigger than I expected but meh treat yo self.

Quite a lot of good stuff announced at WWDC. iPad getting it's own iPadOS with a bunch of new improvements like USB storage and SD cards.

Another nice "strawberry float you" to Google and Facebook's privacy stances with Apple's own single-sign-in service that basically generates a burner email for each service you use it with so you don't get tracked.

Face ID getting a 30% speed increase.

I’d forgotten it even was WWDC, what’s the main features of iPadOS then? Available to the full range? (well ones released in the last 2 to 3 years anyway) or limited to their more expensive Pro/Air models?

The developer preview of iPadOS is available to Apple Developer Program members at developer.apple.com starting today, and a public beta program will be available to iPadOS users later this month at beta.apple.com. iPadOS will be available this fall as a free software update for iPad Air 2 and later, all iPad Pro models, iPad 5th generation and later and iPad mini 4 and later. Sounds good from the marketing spiel, will have to wait to try it out to see how much it improves the iPad experience though. Good to see that they’re still supporting the iPad Air 2 as well, although wasn’t that the first device to have 2GB of RAM? Almost seems thats what’s needed to keep receiving iOS updates.
