That’s the rumour. But then it’s been rumoured for so long. Announcement due April 15th

iPhone 8 chassis as I understand.

Is it fair to say when I think SE I think the thicker phone factor? I thought that was why everyone was attracted to it to begin with. I’d pick it up if it was a thicker phone, but I think it’s just gonna be a more entry level iPhone in the 8 casing, which will appeal to others I know.

I'm guessing it will be an iPhone X within an iPhone 8 shell. If its priced at £399, then its a good deal for those who want a smaller iphone. I doubt I will upgrade from my X this year unless they make some major changes like getting rid of the notch. A better camera is not what I really need right now and would rather drop £1k on a PS5 and Xbox Series X in all honesty.

They’ve announced the new SE today, starts from £419, only seen the promo video on YouTube, comes with an A13 chip inside, 4.7 inch screen and Touch ID rather than Face ID by the looks of it.

And taking the 8 off sale too, so this will be the only small-sized option available. Might as well stick with my still-like-new 6 for now.

Very much interested in the new SE, will check out the options when pre-orders go live.

I pay for the 50gb ICloud backup, with that I don’t really need to go for a phone with large storage do I? Also, when I get the new SE, is it just a case of me starting it up, logging in to my account and then all my contacts, photos etc... will come up straight away?

Yes it’s really good all your apps (even the order of them) all your settings etc all get transferred

On the phone storage side I always go for 256gb because I save a lot of music (Apple Music downloads) and I download various google maps so I can use them offline, it’s very convenient especially when travelling abroad

Cheers guys

Music wise I stream everything as I get 100gb data through EE and that does me fine. The thing that saves to my phone would be photos/videos but if they get saved onto my cloud storage anyway I can probably get away with whatever the lowest memory SE they are selling.

Just bare in mind that you will exceed the free ICloud photo storage capacity quite easily. I just continue to use google photos, which integrates with it pretty painlessly.

I'm fine with a 64GB phone and the 50GB iCloud plan that's 79p per month. I'm barely using half of the phone storage as it is with Spotify and iCloud Photo Library, plus I've got that thing turned on that deletes apps you barely use.

Sorry, i did not read your post properly. If you have the 50gb paid iCloud plan then your fine like you say.

Question, I’ve never tried to pre-order an IPhone on Apple before. Am I going to have to be online dead on the pre-orders going live to get one?

Nice one, think I’m going to treat myself to this tomorrow then as my current SE has awful battery life now.

If for any reason Apple sell out then I would recommend ordering from John Lewis, they always list them on the day of release and they do next day delivery, they also give you a 2 year guarantee and they are on topcashback so you get normally around 2% back, on my current iPhone I got over £25 back

I hope that’s real. I always liked the flat edge of the 4. It felt so solid. And it would match my iPad.
