I only ever use Safari, it’s my only browser on iPhone, iPad and Mac, only issue I have had was logging into online banking as it didn’t seem to allow you to do it more than once a day but I downloaded the app and it’s a lot quicker, other than that I can’t say I have had any problems

That’s weird. The banks website refused multiple logins within the same day? Sounds more like a bug, what would happen?

What do you find less stable? Does it crash, or do certain websites not load properly?

This! Sometimes website do not load properly or work at all. Every time I switch to Chrome or Firefox it will work fine!

Can’t say it happens that frequently if at all for me. I don’t even have other browsers to use.
Do you have any extensions? Ad blockers, that sort of thing. Could try disabling those when a website doesn’t work.
Or alternatively, try installing some. You’ll be surprised how different the experience is.
I run an ad blocker on my iPhones, iPads and macs. Also run a little pi-hole connected to my router to block all manner of gooseberry fool.

I am not sure perhaps I should do a full reset. One thing that annoyed me with Safari is when Im using airplay to put audio through my HomePod whilst was watching Netflix or Disney Plus on Safari the sound doesn't work well at all with lag, no sound at times etc. I know my wifi isn't good in my room but on Chrome it is much more stable.

You could try deleting cookies and your browser history, but I wouldn’t recommend a full reset or anything.
The HomePod issue I’ve had myself. I have a two in my living room right next to my router, and one in the basement conversion which only just barely gets WiFi. Sometimes I will have sync issues with that one.

Thanks it seems its a wifi issue with my HomePod as I have issues with my laptop and phone too even tho the wifi router is in the room next to me. I have thus ordered a standalone router/modem and will throw out the Plusnet supplied home hub. Hopefully this fixes it.

It looks like it’s a known issue as I googled “NatWest login problems on Safari” and various sites came up including NatWest’s owns website starring there was an issue with it

Most likely a stupid question but can I pay for apple TV with codes for iTunes? I have Apple tv on my Fire TV but don't want to put my card details into apples system so can I buy iTunes credit at a shop where I get a discount and use that?

Thanks in advance :D .

I am not 100% sure but I would assume you can because I know you can pay for Apple Music with gift cards, I have a years free Apple TV so can’t check myself although I pay for Apple Music with PayPal so you could do that and avoid giving your card details

My wife wants to get an iPad, mainly to use for recipes while cooking and shopping online. Would probably get taken out of the house for travelling down the line in a post lockdown world.

We were looking at the 10.2" 2019 model that launched last September, is it going to be worth waiting to see if they launch a new one this year as we're not in a rush?

iPhone 6 Plus. Tim Cook noted it himself when he said during the Q4 2014 earnings call

No idea if anything else of note was announced but this is pretty big I guess?

Custom Apple made chips in some devices from the end of 2020, all the lineup to be transitioned over the next couple of years.

The performance boosts will be pretty huge. Seeing Shadow of the Tomb Raider running on the same chip as the iPad Pro was pretty impressive.

Good summary of all the announcements here:

You'll be able to change the default browser and email app in iOS.

The switch away from Intel chips definitely the biggest headline one from that list, can’t wait to see how a better cooled version of something similar to the current iPad Pro’s chip can be utilised in a laptop/desktop. Reckon we might get an ARM powered MacBook this year after all?

I remember when the last iPad Pro came out arstecnica wrote a few articles about how much of a push the new chip in it was, and that it benchmarked well against Intel CPUs. Crazy that a 'mobile' chip is pushing boundaries like this. God, if Apple create a VR headset that could be really interesting. It's a slight shame rumours are pointed towards AR rather than VR, but it might suprise me with it's possibilities.

Rumours are the first ARM hardware this year will be a 16inch MacBook Pro and a 21inch iMac.

That 2 year transition time is perfect timing for me. I've currently got a 2017 15inch MacBook Pro and won't be needing to upgrade for a good few years yet, but when I do it'll probably be a 27inch iMac.

If it does end up being a MacBook Pro and an iMac then they’d definitely be actively cooled, the numbers were amazing when benchmarked on the iPad Pro, never mind when they’ve got a fan and heatsink to help it along. I wouldn’t be interested in buying either of these, hopefully the standard MacBook gets an ARM refresh/re-release as well as I would be interested in one of those due to not really needing much from a computer these days.

I thought the first thing was a MacMini looking thing. Although it's only for developers to do testing so you could be right. I'm more interested in how the rest of the tech world react. Google have already been talking about talking about building their own chips could MS follow suit and is this the beginning of the end for x86?

I was expecting the first ARM model to be the return of the 12" MacBook, though launching with the Pro would lay down a marker of 'well look how powerful we are' type of thing.

Was also confirmed last night that the HomePod is getting support for third-party music services :toot: Definitely going to get one now, they're down to £199 currently but I'll wait till later in the year to see if a newer one comes out.

I’d have thought that’d have been the first ARM/Apple made chip MacBook product as well, bumping the size up to 13” to keep it similar to the current largest iPad Pro though maybe.
