Episode 2 people.

Again, feedback welcome.

Let me know what you think of the audio, which should be much improved on the first episode (Except for one bit near the end I forgot about. )

EDIT: Incase anyone missed my post on the last page, this was mostly done before I released the first episode, so there are somethings I never got a chance/time to change.

The Intro will be getting removed from episode 3 and replaced with a much shorter, snappier one (3-4 seconds).
I will also have a proper youtube style "Other videos on this channel" blurb at the end.
The dialogue will be less scripted.
Game footage will be more specifically tailored to the commentary.
Graphics and other elements will hopefully look a bit sleeker and less "MS Paint" than they do now.

I really enjoyed the second video the issues with audio have gone and it's really well paced.

The only thing I found a bit jarring was the cut from gameplay to showing a sneak peak of the next episode.

I think it was just the sudden jump to taking with some gameplay straight into it if that makes sense.

Can I ask what mic you're using as i'm looking for a decent one before I make any new video's for my channel.

Yeah, that was the part I forgot about. Meant to do a fade out there. I need a better way of doing that "Next time" blurb as well.

My mic is literally just my headset mic. I'd originally used Adobe Audition to record the audio, but I just wasn't getting a decent sound from it. So I just recorded it into OBS and stripped the audio from the blank video file. For some reason it gives me much better sound quality.

Thanks I will have a look at using OBS instead.

Worth playing around with a few ways to do it and see what gives you the best results.

I probably just need to configure Audition properly.

Sent you a PM last night.

I've recorded the footage for this weeks episode and started writing down some notes for the commentary. All being well I'll piece it together Friday/Saturday ready to be released on Sunday night.

Just watched Episode 2. It was good, very interesting to listen to. A few jokes at the start and it would be like a mini episode of Consolevania.

It's the accent.

I'm very concious of Consolevania when I'm making them. I don't want it to come off as trying to do the same thing as them, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't an influence.

Cheeky Devlin is Scottish?

The videos are great and my only issues would be things that have already been mentioned. The audio sometimes seems a little quiet and hard to hear and although I like the theme tune, it seems to take a long time following the theme tune for the commentary to actually kick in.

Both of those are easily fixed and overall the videos were great. Well done.

Just watched the second episode. Sound is a lot better but there's still some issues. I think when you get towards the end of a sentence you speak a bit quicker and the words get mumbled. Still felt scripted, but not as much as last time.
The screen did seem a bit too busy with all the things down the side. I suppose the Arcade screen is keeping the original aspect so you can't widen it.

Very good, introduced me to a game I'd never heard of, but I think you need to increase the volume of the audio still more.

Another good watch CD. Sound overall is better but there's still some issues with your speech, it took me a while to understand that you were saying Shoot Em Up as it just sounds like Shmup. Slow down and just speak a bit more clearly. Doing that should also increase the length naturally as well so you don't feel like you have to have a massive script for a 7 minute video. I'd say feel free to pause and take breaks to allow viewers to just watch the action on screen too.

Other than that I'd just repeat some of the content points I raised last time again.

I'd also suggest having your own channel might be better for this. I appreciate its to pump GR a bit too, but GR channel is just a bit full of gooseberry fool no one other than people here are going to watch.

Definitely feels like an improvement on the previous two.

To be fair it doesn't really matter what else is on a channel, nearly everything people find on YouTube via search, if they find it at all and then YouTube recommends any similar titles from the same author from there. So there is room for different stuff. If you go to the channel itself it's neatly sorted with lists but we need to add a few I know.

Not saying Cheeky has to do this on GR at all.

Edit: just checked and Cheeky's videos are already doing better than your average video (which gets about 10 views) in a few days, closing on 150 views between them which is a small but noticeable bump for our channel. I can almost guarantee that's because of the rarity of the games and actually posting about the videos. Do that regularly for interesting subjects (or games) and you start to pick up subscribers.

Really good ep CD, sound issues have been fixed (though you still said Shmup) and really interesting choice of game. I'd never heard of it but it looks ace.
