Deep fried pizzas are very good though.

Neither have I. Was never sure how it became associated with Scotland.

The strawberry float is a barm?

That's the name that lunatics have for a bun.

Oh. We call them rolls here. I’m not actually sure why, as I think on it. Weird thing is I’m originally from the same sort of area as Red(Blackburn, Bolton, Burnley are all pretty much next door) and have never heard of them being called a barm.

Deep fried Mars Bars were invented in Aberdeen.

Just found this absolute golden nugget from Wikipedia on deep fried mars bars:

The product has not received support from Mars, Inc., who said "deep-frying one of our products would go against our commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles."

Mars, that great producer of foods to complement a healthy lifestyle.

A deep-fried Mars bar a day, won't help you work rest and play.

I dunno, eat one a day for long enough and you'll be resting all right!

Also barm is a batshit word for roll. Bap is clearly the best term to use. :datass:

But a barm isn't a roll.

Or a bun.

I dunno how you miss them if you're in Edinburgh, they're all over the city centre.

A roll. A bap. A bun. Bread.

Also, worst food concoction has to be those rotten bird fetuses in their eggs the Chinese eat.

Good call. Surströmming and Hákarl are contenders, too.

I think one of the worst things I've ever eaten is Rakfisk, a Norwegian 'food' that is basically raw fish left in a bucket with salt for anywhere between 3 months to a year, then is just eaten as is.

I don't think you can have a thread about the worst food concoctions without mentioning the travesties brought into the world by Good Mythical Morning, like the Beef Bile Cheesecake:

But they aren't "serious" foods people regularly eat and enjoy.
