Usually that is true, but it is really annoying if you want to play a certain game and then find there is a 10GB patch. :x
Unless it is online you can ignore the patch.

Yes?

That and, y'know, Nintendo tend to release finished games.

I just plug my PS3 into the router if I want to download anything on it as the wifi speed is terrible, that definitely helps.

Trelliz you're normally the first to link this excellent article about modern consoles:

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

It's alright when you have decent internet, but every time I come home from uni there's only a brief window where I can play stuff online before an update comes out which I can't install because it'll use too much of our data allowance up. That's more the fault of there being very poor provision for rural broadband than the updates themselves though.

I'd argue that isn't true. File compression and in disk content should be better. You provide for your audience and their circumstances, not the other way around.

I wonder if there are people actually paying usage cap related fees or top ups because they are forced to download the game again so that it performs reasonably. That's an extra cost levied at the cost of the consumer. Games released in that state should have warning labels attached "warning contains part of game only, playing game may incurr additional internet provider expenses. Check with your ISP."

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

It's ridiculous that an upgrade takes up more space than every first party Nintendo game released on the Switch combined.

I don't know anything about game development though so my opinion might be very silly.

All Nintendo graphic textures ever made would fit onto the back of a postage stamp.

I dissed Nintendo :( . Feels bad :( .
