It looks like we gave the Chief a lot to sort through tonight!

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing! :dread:

Just a quick heads up, i'll be out for most of today and so won't be able to post much.

Try and organise who you want me to invesigate next though and i will do so.

This in itself suggests no third party roles were free to target me, so I've got a decent feeling about this.

Kouichi Zenigata, world renowned IPO detective rose through the ranks quickly after apprehending the great master of disguise Lupin the Third. With Lupin finally behind bars he realised that his duty was no longer to be a detective, but to be the Jailor that would ensure the menace Lupin would never break free again. He'd seen Lupin break free from more jails than he could count and this time he'd be sure to defend peace and justice by taking over one of the IPO's most secure facilities.

After hours of indecision, unsure of who to take in Zenigata the Jailor decided to throw Jessica Fletcher behind bars. He attempted to reason and speak with Jessica to find out more about what she had been doing the past few days, but she blanked him. With Jessica being quiet and all the other evidence he'd managed to acrue with the help of his friends and colleagues he knew there was only one thing to do. He executed Jessica in the early hours of this morning.

Was this the right play? Had he just executed an innocent person?

With the Mafia Jane Marple the Godfather and Frank Columbo the Consort gone, both removed by the town over the course of the first two days there were once again no more kills last night. With Jacques Clouseau the Escort keeping Hercule Poirot the Lookout it seemed that Poirot was going to be doing any detective work tonight either, but at least he managed to survive the lynch after a hard fought, very frustrating day yesterday. Nancy Drew the Investigator decided to investigate Dick Tracy the Doctor but thankfully for her he'd made it easy for her by making a quick visit to check she wasn't injured. Shinichi Kudo the Veteran aka Detective Conan stood alert, but luckily for him there was nobody left for him to defend himself from and Thomas Magnum the Mayor sat and watched as it all unfolded. Finally, for Jessica Fletcher the only Murder She Wrote was that of her own execution.

Has a perfect game ever happened before?

I think that this game has been a perfect demonstration of role claiming in action. We had a little bit of luck with our lynch picks, but we were open about our plans in thread and with everyone coming forward, we were able to narrow our options down well. Sometimes luck would go against us and the calls wouldnt go our way, but this time, it worked to perfection.

I don't think outside of my last game I ran there's been many games that have been this small which probably helps make perfect games possible as there's less chaos.

I certainly didn't expect the game to end at the start of Day 3. I thought It'd be completely imbalanced if I allowed the werewolf to attack before night 3 because I assumed at this point one if not both of the mafia would still be alive and everything would still be somewhat chaotic. The fact you managed to put both mafia players up for lynch on day 1 and then Jane managed to target the one person who was protected on the first night meant it was always going to be hard, but I never forsaw a perfect game!

The very fact that you almost lynched Poirot yesterday despite him almost having a foolproof claim as well was hilarious.

The possibility of different outcomes must be almost unlimited, you'd never realistically predict that outcome though!

I spent about an hour last night typing out that I was changing my vote to Jane, deleting what I'd written and then repeating the same all over. At least Magnum made the right call!

I imagine it was frustrating for Poirot, but the doubt was always that the Mafia didn't kill because he was the Godfather and was imprisoned. Did we miss an obvious reason why this could not be the case?

I do wonder if this style of setup ends up being town favoured purely due to the difference in timescale relative to a Town of Salem game where everything is a lot more fast paced. Like in a Town of Salem game I wouldn't have had time to mull over Poirot's claim and realise he was likely innocent as I would have had a minute to make the call. With this many roles and much longer to plan it can easily turn into a 'solved' game for the village after a role call like it did in the last phase although I suppose that was because none of the baddies jumped in with fake claims to disrupt the role call.

Great work everyone, the first clean sweep I've ever seen in one of these games.

Mind you, we got lucky on day 1 and it could have easily gone the other way.

Just a shame we didn't have more players, but thanks anyways to the chief inspector for hosting the game!
