Down: Shield
Up+Y: Bomb
Down+Y (hold): Dash

Ooh! Brilliant stuff, OSC. I had no idea about this stuff and I've not used it before!

45 is a perfect score.

All nine potential votes giving you first place is 9 x 5pts.

I can post the score breakdowns later if anyone wants to see them.

Can this thread have a link to the creators ID (or perhaps the ID of the first course that each has created)? That way we could easily follow the creations and the conversation in this thread might be more fun to those not actually participating.

I would love to see what you guys are putting out, but its very hard for me to check if i already have you labelled as someone i am following.

Similar to above, I'd love it if the OP gave both forum username and in-game username, I don't immediately recognise everyone in-game!

I've barely touched on the 3D world elements in this so it's going to be fun playing around with them to get a feel for what makes a good level in that theme.

Slightly jealous of the Flower Group with their Zelda challenge though!

I'm roughly halfway through making my level, playing as Link in Mario is way more fun than it should be!

If only Zelda II had been this good

The Zelda mode in this is really fun! Link actually has a pretty interesting moveset imo.

I've started twice now but got nowhere. The moves are so different and I'm struggling for inspiration. Hoping that I get something built this evening!

Something people might not know (I didn't until I stumbled across the puzzle-solved jingle) is the different sound/music changes with the master sword:

- Lightbulb > Puzzle solve jingle
- Peaceful > Fairy Fountain theme
- Bonus Music > Horse race music
- Boss Music > Zelda II overworld encounter
- Final Boss Music > Zelda II dark link battle

The music for each stage theme is changed to one of three tracks:

- Overworld, underwater, desert, snow, sky and jungle all play the Zelda 1 overworld theme
- Underground and ghost house play the Zelda 1 dungeon theme
- Airship and castle play the Zelda 1 final dungeon theme

The jingles for touching the flagpole, touching the axe and dying are all changed too.

Think I finished my level last night, but need to play test it again today with fresh eyes. Slightly frustrating that when you die when play testing the game puts you back into make mode, as I can't really get a good feeling for the pacing of the checkpoints - you have to go to upload to play the clear course check for that.

Pro tip - don't use them. Players gotta get hardcore or get out.

;) .

Nah, I'm *thinking* about using a checkpoint this time. It's not a huge level so I might not, though.

Thing is with checkpoints is that in the original game they're usually just after a relatively dangerous section or they're direct center of a level.

I have them at 25% and 50%, which I think are good points to have checkpoints, but it's more getting a feeling for respawning at them to ensure they're in a breathing spot (with a well centred camera on respawn) and that the master sword is suitably reaccessible from them given you're supposed to be playing as Link.

Struggling to find the time to devote to my level with the current COVID crisis getting in the way! I've made a few attempts, it's harder than I was expecting to effectively incorporate the unique 3D world elements!
