Round 6 Guidelines will go up at some point over the next couple of days - may not be tomorrow as normal due to the bank holiday!

As mentioned on the stream the overlapping of guidelines and ranking does mean we have the potential situation where someone can spend time making a level this week and then discover they are out of the competition on Sunday which is unfortunate, but also as stated I think the benefits of giving people two weeks to think about and work on their levels outweighs this negative. If this situation does transpire then I am more than happy to play any levels that are sent in even if they are no longer eligible for competition!

Missed the stream this time due to a family gathering (we have it pretty alright here in Iceland, covid-wise, before anyone gets on my case about being irresponsible and stuff :shifty: ).
I'll be there next week for sure (assuming I remember there's now a 1 hour time difference between us, and that I remember which way it goes).

That was... an interesting VOD to watch.
Here's some of my thoughts as I was watching the half of it that was my level:

"Just throw the shell at the On/Off switch!"

"Don't go around, just go back through the door!"

When Jenuall initially rejected chat's idea for how to get the bob-omb to the end:

:|

When, despite his thoughts that the only intended way of getting the bob-omb to the end felt like "a cheaper way of doing it", he did it that way anyway:

(can't think of a way to properly express the overwhelming sense of relief I felt)

All in all:

I thought for sure that last coin wouldn't be too hard, I did everything I could to make it obvious where the block was - pay attention to the other platforms is what I thought, my bad. lol

With your level Cyborg I think only real query would be around the final bob-omb - it feels like you're supposed to set things up to lead him down the path and along the semi-solid mushroom platform (which I guess is just there to let you get the big coins) in order to blow up the exit, the fact that it seems possible to do that distracted a little from finding the correct solution!

After finding it I assumed the detailing on the platforms with blocks was the clue. I don't think it was excessively difficult - the level is small so there are only so many places to look!

Let me know if you manage to find all the red coins on my level. I know Orange will as he worked out how to get the first one already. And Jen already found the hidden one in the stream (clue was the thumbnail)

Got them all this morning :datass:

Pro-tip for the first survival screen: crouch in the top-right corner on the mushroom platform below the launcher and you're completely safe

Think I've set a good time on your level! Also kudos as I haven't been able to find any skips or sequence breaks, only optimisations for speeding up individual sections mostly through damage boosting. Seems pretty water tight!

I'm glad you're having fun with it! I fixed a few sequence breaks during development - the biggest potential still in there seems to come from taking the spring into unintended areas but I couldn't think of any obvious ways that could be abused!

This is one of the things I was trying out. Best I could do was use the spring to get into the uppermost pipe without ever picking up the mushroom, but then its blocked by blocks needing the mushroom as soon as you get in anyway.

The only part I can really "break" is if you don't free the mushroom launcher, you can get it to drop by moving back into that room when the p-switch is activated. Considering that's after you should have freed it anyway its not really notable though!
