I said before the tournament started that maybe doing a drop in drop out thing every few weeks where people get given a theme and you make a level for it just as a one off thing could be nice. That way everyone gets to make a level with no pressure or worry about being eliminated or anything. It also means people with less time can join in!

It was basically what cyborg ran for a short while with this and it unfortunately didn't get much traction. I fell off almost immediately because it coincided with pokemon iirc.

I think one of the big appeals of AYAMMM is the stream and being able to watch someone else play a level you have made. I also find the competition format fun, but it's probably the watching of the levels being played I like the most. Makes the creation feel more worthwhile!

I too enjoy watching Jenuall 'play' my levels.

It's settled, I'll still submit levels after this one.

The streams were always a highlight for me as well when Devlin was running it, so it would be nice for anything else we do going forward to keep that aspect of it in some form. Perhaps we could have a group of people taking turns streaming levels?

I jest. I'm terrible at 2d Mario, and I've only made it through all these so far by you showing me how to play it!

I think some credit has to be given to Jen for showing us how to get through levels. Although on the flip side to that is when everyone in the comments knows what he should be doing and doesn't :lol:

Agree that the stream is a huge part of the appeal.

FWIW I would take part in a monthly Mario Challenge or something. No eliminations or points that carry over, just two weeks for anyone who wants to enter to make, then two weeks for everyone to play and rank.

Havnen't had time to create a level this week. If I don't get time today i'll end up submitting the one I did the day it was announced.

I've played with a few concepts since this theme was announced but nothing really stuck. Had some which were funny but didn't really play well, others which felt too similar to Mario, and one that seemed OK but just lacked that novelty factor (it was Zelda inspired).

Finally had an idea last night that I think I'm happy with. Might be a bit tight on time but fingers crossed it'll work out OK!
