Round 7 Results

A great win from ORKN with his excellent Pokémon level, but as everyone has mentioned at one point or another all of the levels have been fantastic throughout and this round was absolutely another case of that so well done to everyone.

So what has that done for the table:

So at the end of the league stage of the competition we still have a very tight top 4 but OrangeRKN has managed to take the pole in this last round. And sadly, as we knew from the positions running up to this round Rubix in 5th place has been eliminated!

Thank you so much for all of your contributions so far Rubix and I look forward to still chatting with you about the remaining rounds and playing any "non-competitive" levels you produce going forward! :toot:

As for what happens next: we are now in the Semi Finals Baby! :datass:

Semi Finals Overview
As outlined at the start of the contest what this means is this next round (Round 8 The Floor Is Lava) is effectively a case of two head to head battles: OrangeRKN vs Victor Mildew and Karl vs OldSoulCyborg

The makers job is still to create their best level based on the guidelines provided but the only difference this time is when ranking everyone needs to vote for who they thought won between the two head to head battles. Makers can obviously only vote for the other battle and not their own, which is why we need as many people as possible who have been involved to vote!

I'll be sending out a poke to anyone who has voted so far to encourage them to get involved with voting in both this semi final and the upcoming grand final.

Hopefully that makes sense, if not just shout at me! :toot:

As a bit of fun I thought I'd look at some meaningless stat crunching ahead of the semi-finals. tl;dr it's about as close as it could be!

Yeah whilst you've had fewer wins your overall performance has been slightly more consistent which allowed you to end up ahead on the overall table. Cyborg had a couple of rounds that placed him further down the table which was enough to pull his overall score down just enough!

2 - karl
1 - ad7

By number of wins straight out cyborg is ahead with victor and myself trailing, although there isn't a large gap - just one win difference could have changed this board significantly. Still, cyborg seems the one to beat from this!

Individual semi-final matchups

Looking at the respective semi-finalists and seeing how they have performed against each other across the rounds - so whoever placed higher between them gets a "win" for that round. It ends up pretty much as close as it could be without ties:

osc 4 - 3 karl
orkn 4 - 3 ad7

That might suggest myself as osc as narrow favourites but you wouldn't expect good odds at the bookies! Interestingly enough when comparing myself against karl I'd be in a slightly better position at 5-2, but against cyborg I'm losing 3-4. (I didn't check every possible matchup so you'll have to check yourself if they interest you!) Quite how cyborg has come ahead of me in more rounds and has 3 overall wins against my 1, yet still I ended up ahead in the league, is a bit mad It comes down to me losing to cyborg by less of a margin than when he lost to me I think.

That is really interesting. Closer than it looks but I still don't stand a chance I think.

About 2 3rds of my level is done I think, although I'm constantly playing as I go to hone it and I've found a bit of a fuckup which will need a part of the level completely changing

Part limits in this can be a real pain. To be fair I'm using some as theme dressing, but they also count towards a certain type of part, so it then locks out a lot of the other things to use.

Nearly finished it though, going for a tough level to finish the competition on this time :nod:

Mine is a bit hard too (context), but I can't make it easier without compromising on the guidelines so good luck jen :toot:
