I’ll take that as I’m fairly new and I thought everyone did a great job

Last of the lot. Can't say I'm surprised, considering there wasn't really much there aside from a load of ice. My next one should be a lot better, so we'll see how that one fares.

So I feel I should mention that there are always hidden blocks in all my levels

I am starting to think my next one might be too hard for people to like :dread:

Ah hidden blocks, the most powerful of tools. Able to cause joy and grief in equal measure depending on how they are employed!

I like hiding stuff like that in my levels, in logical places.

I thought yours was a really cool idea, but I think it was maybe a little too difficult and I got frustrated. :fp:

I liked the backwards aspect of returning through the level, I think the NSMB theme was the most annoying part. strawberry float I hate that art style.

I liked the concept a lot, using the blocks in the level as the ground and removing the ground itself definitely hit the brief! Ice blocks are just one of those inherently frustrating block types so combining those with mandatory single block jumps over bottomless pits was where it (or literally I) fell down I think.

Somewhat similarly for Pedz I think low gravity is a hard sell regardless of the level design, it's just one of the more inherently awkward mechanics in the game. The momentum killing of the low gravity jump I always feel discourages me from wanting to jump, which isn't great for a platformer! Again though it definitely hit the brief of remixing the level because of the low gravity.

I'd say water levels are another that are generally less liked so ad7 did well with his in that it wasn't frustrating like water levels often are for no other reason than being under water!

I say the above with all the empathy of having made a car level in the past

I did regret the water aspect of mine once I played the others, as it really kills any chance of moving through the level quickly, which can be a nice secondary challenege in itself.

I don't think water is an inherently bad tool within Mario, it can create some really nice challenges, but it is probably one of those things that needs to be used right. I really like your underwater coin hunt - it had the right mix of challenge and exploration for me.

It was a tough first round to rank in my opinion, as mentioned in the stream last night that came across in the voting where there was quite a lot of variance in placings!

I actually really enjoyed yours because it was a water level.

Thanks for the words, all. I did think the ice would prove to be a problem. Did anyone check the starting ? blocks? I think the item in there would be considered a cheat.

I don't think I checked the "?" blocks - I just went straight for the pipe! Was it the propeller in there?

I'm guessing it's not intended that you can use it to skip the entire level by bouncing off of Kamek at the start?
It's... a bit tricky to pull off.

Oh. That's the speed record at sub ten seconds, then.

I haven't seen what the time is. I just assumed a sub ten was possible.
