Thanks to everyone who joined the semi final results which started 100% on time and any reports about delays are FAKE NEWS! :shifty:

We had a real tight battle between our two semi pairings but the results are now in and I can reveal that the two grand finalists will be....

More details on what happens next will go up tomorrow but the general plan is as below:

SUNDAY 23/05: Semi Final Results
MONDAY 24/05: Guidelines Published (3rd Place & Grand Final)
SUNDAY 30/05: Replay/Random Stream
SUNDAY 06/06: 3rd Place Showcase
SUNDAY 13/06: 3rd Place Results & Final Showcase
SUNDAY 20/06: FINAL RESULTS!

I was really surprised to go through - I thought OSC's level was really excellent. I imagine the voting was very tight in both brackets. I'm thrilled people enjoyed my level though, thank you for the kind comments on stream, pleased to be in the final!

Four levels in the final means four wonderful Koopa Car races for Jenuall to play :toot:

The top four have been tight throughout and this has reflected in the scores. Last week was the most difficult to vote for but I personally feel the right two made it through based on the set levels.

Orange and Cyborg have had an amazing run and should be proud of the quality of levels they have produced throughout. Im glad we get a 3rd place play off because I want to play more of their levels.

It's been cracking from the start. I didn't realise the quality would be so high so had to really try (which was great).

Love how pissed off Jenuall was getting going for the last red coin, then couldn't hide his disappointment with the secret room. THEN died outside it :lol:

3rd Place Playoff Guidelines

Who's this swinging through the trees? Is it Tarzan on his way to rescue Jane? Is it Donkey Kong on his way to deliver another disappointing platform adventure? No, it's Mario! He has donned his best explorers outfit and headed into the trees to take on all kinds of challenges!

That's right, for your 3rd place play off challenge you will need to create a level using the Forest Theme (which for the purposes of the naming of this round I am choosing to be a jungle instead of a forest

) and provide Mario with your best Forest and jungle themed space to explore!

Vines, trees, water traps, piranha plants, deadly bugs and fish - there is plenty to work with to make your level an exciting and dangerous place for Mario to adventure across so lets see what you can do!

Submission deadline is 8pm Sunday 6th of June - send your level name and code to me via PM.
- Do not post the level in the thread or otherwise share it with anyone beforehand.

Grand Final Guidelines

As Mario stood on the precipice of this, the final chapter of his last great adventure he knew that he had to press on and finish the fight. Behind him lay the crumbling facades of defeated castles, the wreckage of doomed Koopa cars, and the empty shells of more Troopers than he could bear to count.

"Was it worth it?" he asked himself. The pain, the struggle, the endless hunt for strawberry floating red coins? Only this last World could provide him with the answer.

Would this be the scene of one of his greatest triumphs - a sequence of tricks, traps and challenges that would live on in legend, or a damp squib of an ending - something not even fit for a lowly Donkey Kong game? Mario lowered his cap and adjusted his overalls one last time, readying himself for what was to come next: "time to find out!"

That's right finalists, as is AYAMMM tradition your final task is to create your own world containing 4 complete levels! You can pick any of the previous guidelines for the basis for each level (including the 3rd place play off guidelines) and once created you must place these within your own Super World using the world maker tools added in the final SMM2 update! In the tradition of Super Mario worlds you must also make sure your final level concludes with a boss encounter!

Each level must be new for the final - no repeats of existing levels please!

So, will you revisit some of your previous favourite sets of guidelines or attempt to create something where you felt like you didn't quite nail it last time? The choice is yours!

Submission deadline is 8pm Sunday 13th of June - upload each of your levels and the super world and then send the level names and codes along to me via PM.

For the "use any previous rules" part, does that mean you must use a combination of those, or is it you can if you want to, but make anythin you like?

You have to make 4 levels - each one should be created to satisfy one of the sets of guidelines from the competition so far. So you end up with 4 levels each one targeting a different set of guidelines.

If that makes sense!
