Definitely.

I think it's pretty safe to say that all the wolves have posted so far.
Let's pick from the active crowd, because the odds would be in our favour.

LewisD - FatDaz and a random (13)
mic, Shadow, Chris, Ironhide, Zellery, Albear, Mini E, Fatal Exception, Nun, MCN. PMM, Errkal, Moggy, Lagamorph

ianf - crowd-chosen randoms (3)
Call and Answer, YaoiHasLanded, Luke_25

Nun - FatDaz and YaoiHasLanded (1)
BID0

Kezzer - 2x random inactives (6)
Zartan, FatDaz, Met, Riksilver, satriales, Luke_25, Rhubarb

Haven't played this before so not really sure how it works but it seems voting for inactives at this stage is the fairest course - so voting for Kezzer.

Must admit, not chosen the random player yet.
I'm literally going to pluck a name off the list.

Because the wolves don't want to appear as inactives an get picked for a lynch.

Or maybe because we are now going down this route they will stay inactive?

If I'm a villager, how is saying I'm a villager only open an honest to the wolves?

Anyway, there are three groups in which it would be really stupid to risk outright claiming you're a villager, because of this inevitable paranoid suspicion:
1. Ordinary Wolves
2. Special roles
3. The Alpha Wolf

The only group for which it bears no risk is the ordinary villagers. Seers are no good if they're unable to get the word out, so it's as important to seer a bunch of villagers as it is to find wolves. Claiming to be a villager is inviting the seer to verify your trustworthiness. Whether they take the risk and make contact with you is up to them, because you could still be the alpha, but it's unlikely the alpha will be drawing any attention to themselves in the opening day.

As an ordinary villager, there's not really much else you can do to get involved in the game. With such a large player base, your influence is basically nil. And if you've played the game 10 times already as villager, it's tough to get invested as a bystander.

This pretty much hits the nail on the head.

Oh and LewisD making his pitch on me saying I'm villager when he did it himself

But I don't blame him, however when I'm killed you'll realise that jiggles understands.

Anyway I'm off to work so this is likely my last post. Goodbye sweet world...

But even if they did stay inactive, they could easily evade a lynch and blend into all the other inactives.

That's why 2 random inactives is the best bet. We have as much chance of killing a wolf from picking inactives as we have picking random posters.

I'd say Kezzer. He seems quite keen on going for the inactives. As you said, most of the wolves would be active, so going for inactives seems a good way to safely cull villagers whilst avoiding people he knows to be wolves without needing to incriminate himself.

It's best to assume that wolves could be in either group.

So if you're going to randomly pick, then just choose from the entire list.

But looking at old games, this isn't the case.
The 'order' that the wolves appear is pretty random.
If anything, surely they'd be trying to space themselves out as much as possible? So - one posts pretty much straightaway, one a short while later, one leaves it a good while, one leaves it as long as possible to not be under a cull, etc.

The only reason i'm still on the vote card is because people started using the out of date one lol
I dropped out a while ago because Lewis is basically doing the same thing I was going to do hence why i'm also down as voting him for mayor on the same card i'm down as running for mayor.

How does that make sense? lynch the person who wants to make the very first day fair?

The logical other lynchee for LewisD's vote is Derek or anyone else who claimed to be a villager.

Is there a quick way of getting post counts in the thread?

Hmm... actually, having had a look at some of the recent games, the bad 'uns do all tend to get their posts in early, even if they're nothing posts, just so to register as active.
Doesn't guarantee that they'll do it this time though - always the chance for a bluff/double bluff.

Really is a crapshoot at this stage. Nothing to reasonably go on. Just conjecture.

Were you counting posts yourself in the vampire game then?!
