I cannot beat Ninjara (it was Springman and then master cunty) in Gran Prix level 4 on the semi final. strawberry float it's so frustrating.

He reads exactly what I'm going to do and counters perfectly every damn time. It doesn't help I picked minmin who's arms are slow.

Did anyone find Hedlok fun? Like at all? For me beating his nonsense was a sad grind and didn't feel satisfying at all. If anything it deflated my relief at getting through the rest of the lvl. 4 Grand Prix.

I cheesed it.

His range maxes out at around the edge of the higher ground, so I kept him at the other side of it to me. :shifty:

Weirdly, I beat Headlok first time in the level 4 grand prix, it was Max Brass before him that I struggled very badly on. Everyone I've spoken to had the opposite experience!

Was just in a party game and got a +3 bonus, I won a game starting on 50% less health!

I really like that mechanic actually, I actually won that game in an FFA too haha.

Hopefully it'll cool down a touch soon.

It's a shame that the final boss of the Grand Prix follows fighting game tradition and is an unfair, cheap piece of gooseberry fool. Here's a hint, if you can't make a decent single player mode or create a challenge without pumping up a character to 11 and giving them a massive advantage, makes the player feel like they're fighting a cheater and has a gimmick that is an unwanted stain on your fighting system ("I know what, as our game is called Arms, how about we give him four extra strawberry floating arms), just don't bother.

As it is, I'll finish this fight and then never touch the GP mode again. Well done on adding another whopping gooseberry fool to the toilet basin that is an eternity of human misery.

It makes me want to turn the game off and not go back to it for a few days. Maybe developers need to think if that's the time of response they want to elicit in players.

 This was exactly how I felt about it.

Here's a tip: you can save and quit after only 1 round without losing your progress. So if you ever do the GP again, when it comes to Hedlok you can try round 1 until you take it, save, then try round 2 until you take it. This works out significantly easier than trying to win 2 out of 3 'fair and square'. (The boss is a cheating swine & I think this just levels the playing field...)

Managed to do it not long after that post. I became aware of that cheese tactic but I only ever won one first round and that was in the successful attempt.

Now to never touch it again. There are no more unlockables in the GP mode right, bar the currency you can accrue?

I dread to think what it must be like with Master Mummy. I was Ninjara and had a hard time evading as it is. I was fortunate enough the doing the teleport evade or guard teleport charges your punches and this let me get enough hits in to build my Rush twice which, if I avoided his Rush, meant I could take his health down low enough to win.

Still, it's cheap as gooseberry fool and I never want to fight him again. Artificial, cheaty inflated difficulty has become a hallmark of final bosses in fighting games, but it's just a lazy cheap design tactic.

I'm away at work stuff from 5 tomorrow morning so I'm getting an early night. It's too hot as well. Weekend should be fine though.
