Ban request. Reason - posting positive messages during a run chase in blatant disregard of the GR mockers.

Positive? Nah, I love Foakes and while I want England to win I don’t want Jos to be the one to do it. Years more of underwhelming performances and dropped catches with the odd blinder.

Test cricket is a wonderful, wonderful thing. Don't let anyone change anything about it in case they break it.

Five more years of Jos! :dread:

Taking nothing away from Woakes who should be one of the first names on the team sheet in England. And he’s remembered how to bat!

Stokes out of the series because of family reasons.

Well done top to Pakistan on the 1-2 win.

Its not often we have a player who is irreplaceable but Stokes is certainly that. Where do we even go for the replacement? Does Crawley come back in at 3?

I’d imagine so. Then they rotate some of the bowlers - Wood for Archer I’d imagine, maybe Curran for Anderson. That would be a long but excellent tail.

Joe Root (Yorkshire) Captain, James Anderson (Lancashire), Jofra Archer (Sussex), Dominic Bess (Somerset), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Rory Burns (Surrey), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Zak Crawley (Kent), Sam Curran (Surrey), Ollie Pope (Surrey), Ollie Robinson (Sussex), Dom Sibley (Warwickshire), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire), Mark Wood (Durham).

Hmm... I could certainly see England going for 4 quicks with Root turning his arm over. Broad, Woakes, Archer and Curran, for example. BatDeep.

If England win this, do you think they'll play Foakes in the final game?

Root's adamant that Jimmy's going to play and I'm not sure why. Also I hope they don't go with four quicks, the Ageas Bowl is rather receptive to spin. I'd play Woakes Curran Bess Broad Wood.

I hope they go with 5 rfms to make your head explode.

Archer Woakes Jimmy Broad Robinson.

That saddest thing about that post is that under the current leadership Jofra probably does qualify as an rfm.

Unfortunately I don't see anything beyond swapping Crawley for Stokes for today's game. I'd like to see Archer make way for Wood but that maybe extends the tail a little bit too much.

Apparently Wood isn't 100% so I would say, given the team's proclivity not to risk players, that it'll be the same bowling line up as the last game.

Am I the only one who thinks Ramprakash isn't great on TMS? I'm no fan of the Vaughan/Tufnell/Swann trinity but at least they're relatively entertaining. Stewart was always my favourite but I guess he has too many other commitments to do 5 full days. I'd also much rather listen to Ebony Rainford Brent than Ramps.

Carlos Braithwaite on the other hand was an absolute revelation.
