The commonwealth games ticket ballot opens today and T20 is in it this time around. Might be of interest to some (not Balla).

This might be a stupid question but I couldn't find it in google. Who picks the England team? There seems to be some kind of Selection Committee?- Who picks the XI?

At the moment the head selector (and coach) is Chris Silverwood, no doubt with significant input from the captain. Can only pick from what's on offer though.

Absolutely not a stupid question, for years there was uncertainty as to whether it was the coach or Ed Smith the national selector; a role invented by Andrew Strauss to assist then coach Trevor Bayliss.

That role was retired this year as there appeared to be some disagreements between Silverwood, Root and Smith. Currently selection is the sole responsibility of Silverwood though Joe Root certainly will have a say.

Lots of reports circulating that the start of the 5th test is going to be pushed back, maybe by as much as 2 days. Nothing official yet.

Wow. Couple of places saying that the game couldn't be delayed because that would hit the restart of the IPL.
