DEAR GOD NO

Not yet anyway. The lad's juuuuuust bouncing back from an absolute rut and needs at least one more season of runs before he plays for England.

He's in the squad and the no 2 & 3 are getting sweet strawberry float all in the runs column. If it was down to me, I'd bin them both and move Lawrence back up to 3 and play a spinner who can bat a bit (have we got one of those?).

Lawrence is a middle-order bat, we don't want to squeeze a square peg in a round hole, or whatever that stupid saying is.

Also, Crawley scored 267 in his last Test in this country. The winter tour is barely relevant because the conditions are not comparable. Hasn't been amazing in CC this season but not poor either considering the conditions.

Look on the bright side, less chance of losing.

Lovely batting from Burnsy. All grit to try and hold the innings together and he's now he's claiming his spoils.

Am I right in thinking that a literal translation of the name Colin de Grandhomme is Colin The Big Man?

Kind of a ballsy declaration by Williamson though I think he'd have thought twice if Buttler or Stokes were there.

Like never being more than 4ft away from a rat in London, you're never more than 1 wicket away from an England batting collapse.

It's been a decent game, despite a draw seeming on the cards since yesterday.

Just waiting for that unexpected collapse now.

England pace bowler Ollie Robinson has been suspended from international cricket pending an investigation into historical racist and sexist tweets.

The strawberry float is there to investigate besides why the ECB themselves didn't vet his online accounts?

He's admitted to everything, made no excuses and apologised. Doesn't make it OK but I struggle to understand the point of punishing besides "the optics".

Most of the cricket journalists I follow seem okay with this. Anyway if it's a Tory Minister for Sport vs. almost anyone else, I'm probably siding with the almost anyone else.

Wisden.com have chosen to obscure the identity of the player, who had yet to turn 16 at the time. The screenshotted post, with identifying details blanked out, is below.

I am not the best at Twitter but I couldn't find this tweet, which leads me to believe that it has been deleted. But the article does note that the ECB are aware of it, so, presumably, in the interest of fairness and consistency, this person will similarly be making a statement and will be subject to an investigation.

As if.
