That is exactly what I want the openers to do.

My possibly unfair belief is that 'stylists' like Crawley and Vince, and even Pope to an extent, need to try less hard to get picked and therefore end up being worse. Gimme a top three of Sibley, Burns, and somebody of the same ilk please. (Not sure who right now...)

I know everybody's saying how great it is to have crowds back... Listening to the Barmy Army 'singing' makes me inclined to disagree

Radio commentary is certainly better with that Lord's hum they had in the background during lockdown games. I'd imagine it's better in the ground though with the crowd.

Not sure about that, imagine being stuck in the middle of that noise. I'd have my hands over my ears!

Oh Joe.

Being half-cut might make watching this batting more bearable.

Interesting variation to get to 89-3 by getting the runs then losing the wickets. Refreshing.

Not ideal considering the first session but great to see some grit from Lawrence

England are definitely back in this now. If they can get 325+ I'll fancy them for the victory. #mockers

This team is so gooseberry fool.

Can only occasionally bat.
Can't catch.
Won't play a spinner.

To be fair they are missing their three first-choice keepers.

To be fairer where the f*ck is the spinner you morons.
