Not sure if 'woohoo' or an accident waiting to happen. England are losing either way.

Oh I don't expect this to change the outcome of the series but it will at least allow England to stop playing gimped XIs in attempts to compensate for the loss of Stokes.

Jack Leach is probably the only cricketer happier than Joe Root right now.

Watch them play both of Broad and Anderson and omit Leach.

I'd like to rebuff this in a confident manner; but such is the spewtard logic of the ECB's recent decision making that I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they did precisely that, because in their groupthink believes more RFMs are always the answer.

Those Afghanistan openers hit a ball a very long way, think Scotland could be chasing a big total.

EDIT: GR strikes again!

That is a superb reaction catch for a man of Shahzad's size.

This is an absolute shellacking. Really looking forward to Afghanistan playing the likes of India and Pakistan, could be a shock on the cards.

Imagine struggling to 36-5 and then Rashid Khan comes on to bowl.

Looks like the whole 'Quinton de Kock is a massive racist' thing has been confirmed. Team required to take a knee going forward: de Kock makes himself unavailable. Nominative determinism at work.

It's all here: https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/icc ... cket-score

There's a link in the updates to the story, news that QdK is out for 'personal reasons', and some frankly cowardly fingers-in-ears from the commentator.

I saw he was out for personal reasons and also this:

Rassie van der Dussen and Kyle Verreynne, took a knee while other white players raised a fist and the rest stood to attention. Quinton de Kock, incidentally, did not observe any of the three options.

But what has he alleged to have done?

That's basically it. But the suspicion is that he's therefore quit because he refuses to take a knee. That to me is Not A Good Look. Not that he was putting out a good look in the first place...

Oh it's not a good look, I agree. I just wondered if there was any documented incidents.

I think they just said you all need to take the knee and he said no, I'm out and withdrew.

I don't think it'll be a long tournament for South Africa.
