I don't see us taking 10 wickets in the 2nd innings because our pace bowlers are going to be completely strawberry floating knackered by then.

Someone score a century and I'll be happy. Or just show some application. Anyone. I don't expect you to win from here but please don't do the standard 200-10.

England's shite batting aside, the blame for this defeat needs to lie squarely at the feet of whoever picked the side. When India were 6 down we had a chance but we'd totally exhausted our seam options. Going in to the test with only 2 quicker bowlers, neither of whom have bowled long spells for quite some time, was always going to end up with trouble.

Anyone else seen this? As if that is out. He's literally no idea where the ball is and was just backpedalling to get back in the crease. Umpires should be ashamed.

He might not have know exactly where the ball was but he sure as gooseberry fool had a good idea. He's played his stroke and immediately looked down at the ball after playing it. This wasn't some wild cut or pull at a bouncer that has spooned off towards third man, he'll have known immediately that it wasn't going anywhere. That's why he has called for the run.

But let's give him the benefit of the doubt. Where's he thinking the ball is going to? Further down square leg maybe? They why would he start his run in a direction across the incoming bowler, and then when going back to his crease, continues moving down square leg? Why would he call off the run when he sees the bowler ahead of the second batman if he thinks the ball has gone down square leg or into mid-wicket, or even if it has gone behind his wicket?

He knows exactly what he is doing there and unfortunately in this case it was blatant enough to be called out.
