Both. He'll play and then get crocked mid-match.

He was a lot leaner in his match against Notts. Hopefully that means he's taken the fitness concerns on board. Feel like he's got to start one of those two tests - he's got a Lions match coming up so they'll probably see how he pulls up after that. Could see him coming in for Broad in the second test perhaps as he's the most vulnerable.

Apparently The Hundred starts today. BBC Two from 19:00.

Ollie Robinson 19-4-56-2 against the SA first XI. Surely by demonstrating he can bowl a whole day and taking two wickets at a decent economy he's got to start the first test?

You'd think so. Hopefully they don't use this game as an excuse to play Craig, again.

Booked tickets for the Rockets next week, £35 for me and my son for both games. Seems decent value.

People here think Harmer will play tomorrow? Maharaj is their first choice spinner, so if he does, it'd be as a spin-all-rounder.

Crawley prediction today? Appreciate that this is short notice especially where he's concerned. I'm going 17.

Not a good morning, again. Is there no opening batsman in England who can last more than a dozen overs?

Loving that ridiculous optimism.

I see Eoin Morgan is still being a strawberry floating dick about Alex Hales. Hales was tremendous last night, both literally and figuratively head and shoulders above Roy.

My bet on both openers to individually score under 10 runs at 6/1 was essentially printing money. I don't think I was even overly concerned when Crawley edged a boundary to get to 9  That cannot be a profitable offering from the betting companies with this opening combination.

Unsure what to make of yesterday - undoubtedly South Africa's day, of course, but I'm not sure about England's bowling. Potts and Broad were both expensive - I know the new mantra is to attack and not worry about conceding runs but if that's the way they are going to go about it, wickets need to come at a quicker rate. Stokes's economy was 4.4 but he did snaffle 3 wickets in just 12 overs - that's the sort of return required if bowling in that manner. What do you guys think?

In other news, a good day for The Leachinator. :toot: Kept things tidy and picked up a wicket, very acceptable for spin at Lord's on Day 2.

Some of the field setups seemed absolutely bonkers and I think we just sleep walked them from a 30 run lead to over 100.

I'm not sure BazBall is going to work when we're not batting last. Being footloose and fancy free is all well and good when the game is over when you get out, buy when you have to win it in the field afterwards it seems a different proposition.

Interested to see what happens though. I bet Stokes doesn't bat for more than half an hour

This is heading towards a lead of 200.

Somehow I don't see us getting 400 ourselves.
